Katherine grew up in a small town in South Carolina, but after a brief stint as a schoolteacher in Charleston, she moved to Manhattan and launched a career in the luxury hotel industry. She quickly worked her way up to marketing director at Trust House Forte's flagship U.S. property, the Plaza Athenee. After concluding that Washington would be an easier place to raise young children, she left New York and started a new career in real estate. She lives in American University Park with her husband, Ron Hutcheson and dog, Ellie.
