Kathryn Judge was raised in Hartland, Michigan, and graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications/Theatre Arts with a minor in English Language and Literature. Her studies focused strongly on Interpretation Performance Studies, Writing and Theatre in Education. She comes from a long family tradition of motivated entrepreneurs and has been a successful business owner and entrepreneur in several fields since 1989.
Spending a short portion of her time in North Carolina, Kathryn developed a strong appreciation for the beauty of vintage homes in historical Fayetteville, often doing minor renovations in exchange for her rent. Shortly after her return to Michigan, Kathryn with her partner purchased their first home in Ypsilanti, MI. a diamond in the rough, built in 1908, where a major renovation went underway! After renovations, the pair listed their home, and had an offer within two weeks of showing the home for a substantial profit and moved to the country.
In 1999, Kathryn and her partner settled in Manchester Michigan and they began building the farm known as Chestershire Farms, LLC. Upon the initial purchase, this heavily mature wooded property with a saltbox design home, was no small undertaking. Year by year, pasture space was opened up, and buildings were erected to become the farm it is today. This equestrian facility focuses on the discipline of dressage, and is where she still teaches riding lessons to adults and children, trains horses and boards select horses and previously bred sport horses for dressage and jumping. Her equestrian facility was also the Michigan host site for two international sport horse registries for two consecutive years.
While building and operating her equine business, Kathryn managed the Michigan office for an International Tour Security company from her home office. These two businesses allowed her to stay home while raising her son until he began grade school. During this time, she also managed investment properties that she and her family privately owned and leased (homes and agricultural land). Always, in the back of her mind, she was hopeful to become a Realtor when time would permit.
Aside from being a Realtor, Kathryn has also enjoyed substitute teaching at the Rudolph Steiner School Lower School in Ann Arbor. She finds the children to be a wonderful, rewarding recharge for her soul. Kathryn is also volunteering her time as Chairperson to Howard Hanna Real Estate Services annual fundraiser, Children’s Free Care fund for the Chelsea office, to raise funds that directly go to support Children and their families when a child is diagnosed with a severe illness at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. In her free time, she enjoys her farm gardening with her son, riding horses and enjoying their German Shepherd dogs. The farm is their retreat.
As a Realtor, she finds education to be a key component to furthering her career and providing her clients with the best possible service available. This is why she continued her education 2017-2018 with not just required education per year as an agent, but the Graduate Realtor Institute GRI courses I-III, which allowed her to obtain her GRI designation and the required course hour work to test for her Associate Broker license. She understands that knowledge is key to providing the best possible service out there to her clients and will continue to strive to reach new heights.
Bringing her own experience of buying, renovating and selling personal investment properties and managing her own rental properties to the real estate field, Kathryn was inspired to become a real estate agent at Howard Hanna Real Estate Services. She began her career as a home stager and shortly thereafter, obtained her real estate license. Her experience with her own personal investments, and as a Realtor with her clients, is the knowledge she brings forth to guide you through the process of buying or selling your home. She is committed to you every step of the way! Call her today: (734)637-9698.
