About Ken

A life-long Brooklynite, Ken MacBride is a natural leader and relationship builder. He was born in Flatbush and lived in Marine Park during his formative years. Early in his career, he was an iron worker for Local 40 and then opened his own construction company. Ken's company was responsible for rehabbing several homes in Brooklyn, which is how he developed his relationship with Fillmore Real Estate over 25 years ago. He then got his real estate license and has been with us ever since. Ken joined us in our Canarsie office (the log cabin), at a time when Fillmore was only 10 offices large (250 agents). He had an impressive gift for listing and getting homes sold at top dollar with minimal days on the market. In 1992, after four years, he was elevated to Assistant Manager and became top salesperson for the next four years. He then went to our Avenue L branch and became specialized in foreclosure, short sales and rehab properties, a natural progression considering his background. In 2001, he was promoted to Vice President, Director of REO (Real Estate Owned) marketing. As VP, he oversaw the day to day operations of the Downtown Brooklyn market. He also managed five offices (Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope, East Williamsburg and Fort Greene) and over 100 agents. He has strong relationships with several foreclosure banks, short sale/modification companies and has helped many families through those difficult situations for over the last 23 years. Ken handles over 500 homes per year. With all this, he still finds time to volunteer and help raise his four daughters (Meagan, Erin, Katie and Kristie) with his high school sweetheart and wife of 21 years, Ann. Some organizations he volunteers his time for include: The Muscular Dystrophy Association, Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Children's Miracle Network, Habitat for Humanity and Manager of Bergen Beach youth organization girl's softball (champions of 10u, 12u 14u & 16u) andthe St. Bernard Basketball program in Bergen Beach.
