About Kim

Kim Soper, a lifelong Lexingtonian and a graduate of historic Transylvania University, has been in love with the local real estate scene and Lexington's history since she was a small child. That lifelong passion for her city and its lustrous history naturally led her to a career in real estate. With over 20 years of full-time real estate experience, Kim Soper is highly respected in the real estate industry and also in the community. She has been featured on NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox News, WebProNews, the Lexington Herald Leader, the Louisville Courier Journal, numerous other papers, and radio stations. Kim was named one of the Top 3 Realtors in Lexington & Central Kentucky in the Lexington Herald Leader Reader's Choice Awards. Kim's motto is: Your life is far too busy without having to worry about the everyday hassles of a real estate transaction. I let you focus on your job, family and your life, while I do my job as your realtor! Kim grew up in the Paris Pike area of Lexington. Kim's parents were very involved in the local community beginning in the 1960's and helped establish the Mary Todd Park, located on the former site of Joyland Amusement Park. From then on out, Kim's family played a significant role in the youth and adult sports circuit over the next 40 years. "By the time I was a small child, I felt like I had been all over the city and all the parks, so all parts of Lexington just naturally felt like home to me," says Soper. It wasn't until high school that Kim really became intrigued by Lexington's history, the homes, and the people. After seeing a television program on Lexington history, Kim did a pictorial presentation for the Kentucky Historical Society State Competition and won first place. She then went on to place first at the National History Day competition. After the project, Kim truly fell in love with Lexington and its lustrous history. So, when it came time for picking a great university, there was just one school on her list, Transylvania University. Transylvania, the nation's 16th oldest University and of course the oldest school in Kentucky was founded in 1780, before Kentucky was a state. "Just knowing the deep history of Transylvania University and all the great leaders from U.S. Vice Presidents to Senators to the founder of the State of Texas (Stephen Austin), I had to be a part of this great school that was so embedded in the state and the county's history," said Soper. It also helped that the Transy campus was located in the center of downtown Lexington, and she passed the school on a weekly basis since she was a small child. Kim graduated with a degree in Business Administration with special concentration on marketing and communication. She then spent several years working in public relations and marketing for the nationally ranked University. In 2005, she left the PR world to build her real estate business. Today she has worked with hundreds of families and helps to make the transition to the Bluegrass or simply across town an enjoying and rewarding experience.
