He has also been certified as a Hagg Engineering Certified Roof Inspector. Along with his wife, he owns Just Like Home Laundry in Viburnum and Ozark Country Cabins, LLC, a vacation rental property in Branson, MO.

Having served in various roles in the community, he has a large network of people and centers of influence. He is currently a member of the Iron County Industrial Development Authority Board, Viburnum Economic Development Area Corporation, and Missouri Highlands Health Care Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Lions Club, and Masonic Lodge, and a trustee and deacon at the Viburnum First Baptist Church. He is married to Cheryl Mayfield and lives in the small town of Viburnum, MO, located in the middle of the Mark Twain National Forest. Together, they have three adult children who are married and make their homes in the southwest Missouri area.
