I did my homework when searching for just the right realtor to help sell our condo, to the point of interviewing them before I selected Laurel. Laurel was familiar with the somewhat unique aspects of the complex my condo was located in; she was completely upfront about the process of selling my condo in today's market and buyer's expectations. During the walk through she noted the positive aspects of the property noted those I might want to update or change and what to leave as is to best show the property and attain our goals. When reviewing the comps, she supported my idea to go over the current market a bit to allow for negotiating by the buyer. When offers were made, and they came within days, she guided me through choosing the best offer to accept; the one which would most likely complete the process of purchase. Me and my husband were highly referred to Laurel about a year ago as we embarked on our very specific house hunt. We wanted a lot of land, but also a fixer upper, as well as a detached living space for family. Laurel always got us into see homes immediately after I reached out to her and always accommodated our 5:30 PM showing availability time. She never tried to push homes on us that were not the right fit, or sell us on anything. I felt like she was really in our corner and wanted us to find the perfect home for our family, even if that meant going to some very unique places. Over the summer a home came on the marker on a Thursday (it needed 24 hour showing notice), i reached out to Laurel and we were the first showing that Friday. This turned out to be the home that was right for us. I have no doubt that had Laurel not been so aggressive in getting us in immediately, as well as our offer - that someone else couldve scooped up this house. But Laurel's promptness to her clients and availability really sets her apart, and gives you the best chance as getting the home that you want! She also stayed in super close contact with us throughout the entire buying process, answering all of our of questions and guiding us. Since don’t live in the area, I searched for a realtor online before coming to town to arrange the house sale. When I found Laurel’s info, I read a lot of her glowing, effusive online reviews and thought they sounded too good to be true. I mean, nobody is THAT good, right? Wrong. Laurel really is the best. From start to finish, she was incredibly knowledgeable, proactive, professional, and accessible. She immediately understood our situation and everything there was to know about the house, and communicated clearly what she was doing, what she thought we should do, and when we should expect things to happen. She is also very personable and a pleasure to interact with, in person or (most often in our case) by email. She arranged photos and a listing on very short notice, knew just what the right asking price was, walked us through some fairly complicated negotiations and circumstances, checked on the house when it was empty several times, and even went to the closing when we couldn’t be there, just in case any questions came up. Wow!! Where to begin? It was such a pleasure working with Laurel Lustgarten. She is absolutely the best in the business! So, back in early 2018, we realized we wanted to move to Tennessee. We were sick of New York winters (not to mention a 3 letter word that starts with t and rhymes with “axes”), and maybe most of all we valued the beautiful scenery and southern-charm culture of Tennessee. Where to begin with my experience with Laurel! I have to say I never quite got the concept of a real estate agent until I needed one. I also didn’t understand the motivation behind helping someone embark on a search that may result in nothing and thus the agent’s effort is all for nothing. Well, this was what I was thinking going into this process, my husband and I, though ready, was equally ready to settle for apartment dwelling yet another cycle, if faced with too many complexities.

Little did I know that I would find a gem, a friend, and a family in Laurel! She came recommended by my sister who got her home about a few years back and surely upon meeting her it was a family reunion - we started thinking we had all the time in the world to find something (i.e., 2019 December) until the unprecedented challenges of COVID-19 began in March / April 2020. Inventory was slim and most of the choices just did not fit the bill. Laurel throughout was patient, available, and just comfortable to talk to. Laurel’s personality is inherently to care, we experienced the uniqueness of looking at homes in a COVID situation together with the unsettling overpriced houses, slimmed down house viewing, multi-offers on properties that just didn’t warrant it etc. and right when we thought we were getting into the grove of things, my husband and I discovered we were expecting! So now we just couldn’t settle for an apartment dwelling and the urgency of finding the ideal place that we could grow into became more real.

Amidst all this Laurel, had enough encouragement for all of us, reassuring and never compromising her promise to find us a place that fit the bill of what we wanted. In fact right before the lock-down there had been a home of interest which was already in a bid battle – as much as I thought I loved the home and was willing to pay the rising tag on the house for fear of not finding anything else, Laurel advised against it, with her expertise and background she convinced me that it is significantly overpriced above value and all this because of COVID but she still had hopes that we would find even better... glad I stuck to her advice!

Eventually we found the one, while it appeared to fit the bill, there were a lot of unfinished things and an easement driveway that was not mentioned to boot - we were certain we would drop this one, in fact Laurel, my husband, and I came to the consensus that though it seemed to be the one, there were just too many things undone about the home that would elevate the costs beyond our threshold. Long story short, and after some weeks away from this home with yet slim pickings - I came back to the house, Laurel and my husband both reluctant, but on speaking with Laurel that this was it, she rolled up her family sleeves and began working with us on the best way to negotiate this home – I have to say without Laurel – this process would have been unpleasant nor would we have gotten the deal price we got for it.

In the midst of construction work and finishing touches on the house, personal things happened that I would have been quite alright if Laurel chose to bow out of the process, but to my humbled and most grateful surprise she stood with us. Laurel, little did you know that this gesture of yours, in this personal period for you, endeared you to me more than you’ll ever know and I knew for sure that you were God-sent.

Laurel – your diligence is commendable, I always say what is worth doing, is worth doing well, and you exceeded all our expectations on all fronts. I pray for you like I do family and wish that your good works and attitude, fairness and integrity will always meet you ahead multi-folds. I would go through this process with again and for future if ever there is a need but honestly you came through and supported my vision and interests with grace. As we wait for our little one – I can only thank you – sorry it took so long to write this – I promised myself it must be the first thing I do, when I start extended leave! – glad I didn’t make a liar out of myself! you are Loved.

Where to begin ??? We have sold several houses over the years but none compared to our experience with Laurel. She was by far the best realtor we could have ever hoped for and I can’t express that enough! Laurel is not the typical agent who is an agent because it's easy to get the license. She is an agent by profession, she knows the market and the business she is on top of everything and great communication she will go an extra step even when it's not expected.

One night few days before closing the main door from my house was open someone who drove on the street called Laurel having her number from the sign outside of the house to inform her, she was unable to reach me and I wasn't home so she and her husband drive a 20 minutes way at night to make sure everything is okay with the house.
