About Laurie

Laurie Mookini was born and raised in San Diego California and her fondest memories of that time are friends and extended family gatherings at the beach playing sand volleyball, body surfing and listening to the aunties and uncles play music and dance hula! When she moved to Nevada, she admit she felt like a fish out of water and was totally bummed going from the ocean/beach scene to the desert…that is until she got a horse! Then she saw the true beauty of Nevada. She thought she was Annie Oakley! She became involved in 4-H, Jr Riders, and the Rodeo Club. She learned a lot about country music, two-step, swing, and polka style dance from her grandmother. She was an amazing musician and could play a number of instruments, as well as sing. Maybe that is why she has such a passion for music and dance, and she loves to DJ for special events now! She was very fortunate to have such a diverse childhood …summers in San Diego and the rest of the time going to school, playing sports, her all-time favorite sport is fastpitch softball, and taking long rides in the wide-open spaces of Nevada on horseback with friends. Laurie is very happy to say that the friends she had growing up are the friends she still has today. Life is good! When she got out of school, her passion for real estate allowed her to design and assist in the construction of six custom homes and help the family develop a small single-family residential neighborhood. She has to admit, it was not all work and no play for the past 40 years! She did raise two beautiful daughters, coached, and played fastpitch softball. They went camping, fishing and enjoyed water sports as much as possible, in between softball tournaments. As you can see, she loves to work hard and play hard! She looks forward to putting all her past experiences and life lessons to work for you and help you achieve your goals and dreams.
