Leslie Kunkin

In 2000, Leslie and her husband moved from Brooklyn to Montclair. All these years later, she has never looked back! She still loves Brooklyn and NYC in general and they still spend a lot of time there – but, at the end of the day, she lives in an inviting, inclusive, interesting community with tree-lined streets, back yards, friendly neighbors, and beautiful homes with stories to tell. And she could not be happier! Having made the move from “the city,” she understands the hesitations many people feel contemplating the same move. Here is what she can tell you. It is good! The restaurants are excellent and abundant, the arts are vibrant and varied, and the people are friendly and interesting. And Manhattan is closer from most of these towns than it is from parts of Brooklyn!

Leslie’s roots in Brooklyn run deep. she attended Brooklyn College and received her law degree from Brooklyn Law School – much of her family is still in Brooklyn. When she moved to Montclair, she was a litigation associate at a large Manhattan law firm, focusing on medical malpractice defense. Incredibly, her commute from here was better than it had been from Brooklyn – shorter and much more comfortable! In 2008, she shifted careers to Real Estate, one of the best decisions she has ever made. She is also the proud mom of two amazing children who are happily making their way through the Montclair public schools. She is very actively involved in town, as former PTA President at her children’s school, as a school liaison for SEPAC (Special Education Parents’ Advisory Council), as Director of Volunteers for Parents Who Rock (a not-for-profit musicians’ collective raising money for various local causes) and, of course, through her work as a realtor throughout these towns.

As a realtor, she takes her job very seriously. She considers it an honor to be included in what is one of the most important decisions her clients will ever make – both financially and personally. She understands the importance of a thorough understanding of the current market, coupled with years of experience.
