Lisa Overton

Lisa started in real estate working for a well-known residential home builder in Henrico County. Shortly after that, she started working for another real estate firm providing relocation assistance. She became their relocation director for 15 years. During that time, she decided to get her real estate license in Virginia. After having built up a strong network of connections in the third-party relocation industry, Lisa joined Oakstone Properties in 2008, where she now does corporate relocation services and residential sales.

When Lisa was growing up in Richmond’s West End in Henrico County, she loved to travel. Both the beach and the mountains are a short trip away, so she and her family would visit them often. Some of her favorite memories as a kid are going to Kings Dominion and Lion Country Safari (as some longer-time residents might remember, she says), going to see movies at Byrd Theater in Carytown, riding the paddle boats at Byrd Park, and visiting the real Santa Claus downtown at Christmas time. “All the holidays are so much fun in Richmond,” she says. “From great Halloween bashes, like on Hanover Avenue, and of course the Easter Parade on Monument Avenue. Richmond just has so much community involvement and cohesiveness, and it really shows.” She graduated locally from J.R. Tucker High School.

Lisa and her husband moved to Hanover County after living in Henrico for 33 years, and they’ve lived there for over 18 years. She enjoys going to the Innsbrook After Hours concert series, the Tomato Festival in Hanover, spending time at public parks such as Maymont and Byrd and exploring wineries from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the beach. She’s also involved with Atlee Community Church. Lisa saves a lot of her free time for her young grandsons. She says they definitely keep her young and energized! She also loves taking day trips to the beach, saying, “The beach is good for your soul.”

Lisa has been recognized in the relocation industry for her talents and drive, as well as for how she has sustained relationships over the last 25 years. She and Oakstone Properties are members of Worldwide ERC, a non-profit organization for professionals who are associated with workforce mobility and relocation services. They are also members with the Greater Richmond Relocation Council. She’s most proud of her work ethic, which she learned from her mother, who worked and raised five kids, teaching them the morals and values they still hold and practice today. She also strives for work-life balance, saying working hard is important to be successful, but you don’t want to lose sight of priorities in your life, such as family and enjoying life.
