Luisa’s Biography
Luisa was born in Central America in the tiny country of El Salvador. In the early 1980’s, when she was very young, she immigrated with her mother and siblings to the United States. She attended the University of Texas at Austin for one year before transferring to the University of Texas–San Antonio, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts-Spanish in 1997.
Luisa spent the next 18 years as an armed forces spouse, homeschooling all four of her children. Over the course of this time she and her family relocated nearly ten times. Living across the eastern half of the U.S. in the states of TX, FL, IL, IN, OH, and VA, Luisa and her family were assigned to the northern Virginian area in the fall of 2009, where she has resided since.
Seeking to further her education and begin her working career, Luisa enrolled in and graduated from the INOVA Military-to-Medicine Front Office Management Program in 2011. Then, in 2012, she joined Fort Belvoir Community Hospital as a Red Cross Volunteer and as a Contractor in Patient Administration.
The spring of 2014 marked the beginning of a new chapter in Luisa’s life. She enrolled in the Moseley Real Estate School and completed its course later that summer. Shortly thereafter, she joined the RE/MAX Executive Springfield team and launched her real estate career.
Throughout her life, family and community dynamics have been at the heart of Luisa’s passions. Over the years, she has volunteered in some capacity for every organization, team, or parish that her family has been a part of. In sports, she has served as coach, assistant coach, event organizer, and manager in soccer, basketball, floor hockey, and swimming. In her parish, she has served as organization treasurer, CCD teacher, and youth chaperone. As an active home schooling mother, she has served as leadership committee member, Newsletter Editor, Geo-Culture Club Organizing Committee Member, Co-Op teacher, and Roam-on-the-Range chaperone and trip organizer. Luisa has always supported her children in their many activities, raising them to value sportsmanship and integrity and encouraging them always to work hard and have fun in life.
As an individual, Luisa loves exercising, quilting, and traveling, and she enjoys hiking and nature. She is a dedicated fan of the Texas Longhorns and Houston Texans, and she loves to watch the Olympics and the FIFA World Cup. Her lifelong dreams include traveling throughout Europe and Asia, hiking the entire Appalachian Trail, and attending a FIFA World Cup match and at least one Olympic Games.
