About Lyman
Lyman Chao was born in San Francisco to immigrant parents who instilled in him a deep appreciation for hard work, generosity to others, and the American Dream. Helping others realize the real estate part of that dream and giving back to the community is what motivates him to go the extra mile for his clients. Whether you are a first-time buyer seeking a single-family home or a seasoned real estate investor buying or selling a condominium or multifamily investment property, Lyman is dedicated to helping you achieve your real estate goals. He specializes in the areas he’s known his entire life: the San Francisco Peninsula, including South San Francisco, Daly City, San Bruno, Millbrae, Burlingame, Hillsborough, San Mateo, and Foster City. Lyman is a member of the San Mateo County Association of Realtors and the San Francisco Association of Realtors. He is connected to a vast network of real estate agents across the U.S. and backed by the resources of Keller Williams, the largest real estate company in the world.
Previously, Lyman was a residential real estate agent with RE/MAX, where he won several top awards in his first two years. He has served as a director, officer, or chapter president of several real estates, business, and community associations, including the Asian Real Estate Association of America, the Chinese Real Estate Association of America, the National Association of Asian American Professionals, and the San Francisco Unified Lions Club. Prior to real estate, he founded an Allstate insurance agency and spent ten years in the life and home insurance industry, where he gained invaluable knowledge about homes. He started his career in the interior fabrics business in sales and marketing roles, skills he still uses today in real estate. Lyman earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from San Francisco State University and is proficient in three languages: English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
For Lyman, real estate is not just a job but also a passion. He is involved in producing educational seminars and podcasts for seniors, first-time buyers, and investors covering real estate-related topics such as preparing a property for sale, how to successfully invest in real estate, and how trusts, wills, and property taxes work in an estate situation. Lyman resides in South San Francisco, where he enjoys tennis, photography, videography, and spending time with his two dogs. Zoe is a German Shepard and Emma, a Husky, is his team member in volunteer pet therapy sessions they provide through the Peninsula Humane Society.
