Marika Sakellariou

Innovation and creativity are the driving forces in Marika’s life and the thread which integrates her rich professional career. From dance and exercise to property remodeling and real estate, Marika has the ability to distill to the “essence” the uniqueness embedded in each of these fields.

Marika was born in Athens, Greece and has lived in Marin for more than 25 years. She created Marin Repertoire Dance Theatre and became a distinguished dancer and director throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. Her skill as an instructor led to faculty positions in dance at Dominican College, College of Marin, UC Berkeley and Colorado Mountain College in Aspen. The pinnacle of her dance career came with her appointment as Principal Director and Choreographer for the San Francisco Opera Ballet for which she choreographed over 40 ballets.

Always a seeker, Marika segued her innovative focus into several successful companies and products for the fitness industry. Because of her love for architecture and her passion for modern design, Marika was drawn to real estate. It is in this arena that her discipline, using light and architectural form blossomed in an award winning Eichler remodel that brought her international recognition.

Marika provides her clientele with perhaps the most comprehensive property services in Marin. Her pre-listing design and renovation services are an integral part of her continued success for maximizing her client’s proceeds for both the buy and sell sides. Her key components, exceptional design, open floor plans, and seamless indoor/outdoor flow, have consistently sold for the highest price per square foot. She consistently attracts sophisticated buyers that know what they want and are willing to pay a premium to acquire their dream home.

Marika enjoys teaching ballet and fitness classes, travelling, cooking, and entertaining, and gives back through the Buck Institute on Aging where she participates to raise the visibility of the Institute's achievements and set the pace for philanthropy. Marika donates a portion of her real estate commissions to support research on aging.
