About Mark

Mark is an accomplished real estate professional and client advocate. After 30 years successfully managing financial assets for individuals and Corporations at several different institutions, he retired in 2008 from First Citizens Bank. Several years later, Mark began his second career, in Real Estate. While achieving his NC Real Estate License he also worked with an Appraisal group conducting property inspections and writing appraisals. This experience led Mark to start New Durham Realty and as Owner/Broker-In-Charge he successfully managed and grew this residential real estate Firm for the next 14 years. New Durham Realty was recently merged with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services in Durham NC. Mark has personally bought, renovated and sold 8 homes and has extensive experience in the process and a unique eye for assessing homes, whether for buyers or sellers.
Having grown up and lived most of his life in Durham NC, he and his wife of 35 years Diane, and their two sons Matt and Carr often vacationed in the Garden City and Pawleys Island areas.
