About Mark

Mansion Hill Properties (MHP) was established in Newport, Kentucky in 2012. Co-founder Mark Ramler leads MHP; he has a background in architecture and historic preservation as well as a decade of renovation and restoration experience.

He received his BA in Architecture, and a Masters of Historic Preservation from the University of Kentucky. After graduation, Mark worked for several years with a Cincinnati based developer as a project manager.

In 2009, Mark took on a project that changed his life. He restored his own home, an 1883 Italianate, in Newport’s historic Mansion Hill Neighborhood. It has since been displayed on two Victorian Christmas Home Tours and was featured in the Cincinnati Enquirer. This was Mark’s first rehab in Newport’s East Row Historic District, but it would not be his last!

After realizing his passion, he partnered with Jim Bush to form MHP. The company specializes in renovating and restoring historic properties for lease and sale. At its core, MHP is focused on revitalization efforts in Northern Kentucky’s historic river cities. It has multiple properties in the area, and the team hopes to encourage the historic preservation of its town’s storied past.
