Marla Striar

Marla is a lifelong resident of Westchester. Born and raised in Edgemont, she has in-depth knowledge of, and unwavering adoration for, all that Westchester County has to offer.

Marla is an excellent listener and takes time to understand the needs and goals of her clients, making them feel comfortable with the process from beginning to end. She believes best is relative and each client is unique. If a client tells Marla what is best for them, she will do her best to find it. As a result of her networking acumen and communication skills, Marla has built a wide network of important relationships. These connections, from talented attorneys all the way to local camp directors, make her an invaluable resource for people just moving to the area.

As a member of the Seth Keslow Team at Compass, Marla uses the many resources at her disposal to adeptly position a listing and to find buyers a home that makes sense for them. No matter which side of the transaction, she works closely and honestly with her clients. She excels at moving fast, a pace necessary in a competitive market.

A history buff at heart, Marla taught middle school for 10 years before starting a family. As a parent and former teacher, Marla understands the multi-faceted needs associated with the home buying process. Not just the budget, space, and location, but the intangibles. Does it feel like home? Marla’s previous experience as a teacher lends a unique perspective and essential insights. Combining this with having grown up here and caring deeply about the history of the county, Marla understands the scope, size and feel of every town in Westchester and how to help people find what they are looking for, whether they are coming to the area for the first time or moving around within Westchester.

Marla’s first-hand experience as a home buyer inspired her to help others find exactly what they hope for in a home, and a community. She and her husband left no stone unturned before deciding to move to Belle Fair in Rye Brook. The sense of belonging and amenities offered made their move easier, and they have been happily living in the celebrated community for 7 years.

Marla resides in Rye Brook with her husband and their two daughters. She is an active volunteer as a class parent in Rye Brook’s elementary school. In addition, Marla and her husband are involved members of the Belle Fair community. Marla received her BA in History cum laude from Union College in Schenectady, NY, and an MA in Education with high honors from NYU.
