Highly recommend Martin Tijmes as a Real Estate Agent! As a first-time homebuyer, I didn’t know what to expect. However, Martin was extremely attentive, knowledgable, and efficient throughout the entire homebuying process. He was expeditious at scheduling and showing homes I wanted to view, as well as friendly and swift at responding to my messages or questions. His expert insight was informative and helpful in the decision making process — he was able to help show and talk through the benefits or drawbacks of certain properties, like evaluating resell-value or even the safety of specific locations. Martin was a great negotiator with other agents, always having my interest, timeline, and goals in mind.
We were able to find and close on a home I love within six weeks, not to mention all during the holidays, which completely exceeded my expectations. The next time I buy or sell a home, I’m calling Martin — and you should, too!

From day one till the day I received the keys to my new home, Martin was there in person which made things so much easier for me since I had no idea what I was doing except wanting to buy the house.

Martin is the man, myth and the legend! I purchased a house and sold a house with Martin, AKA Rowdy Realtor. Martin negotiated a great deal for me when I bought a house and sold my house for more than the listing price. I was super happy with Martin and refer all my friends to him now. Martin is also a very fun guy to be around and he takes stress away and helps getting all the repairs done quickly.

I am so happy to have worked with Martin. He actually was able to get a condominium sold for me during a time of very difficult market conditions. I had resigned myself to what I thought was the fact that it would not sell...but no, he came through! He negotiated time for me to stay in my condominium post closing so that I had time to search for my next place and could move out at a leisurely pace. He negotiated a tough deal for me when I found the place of my dreams and beat out other competitors even though my bid was not the highest. One thing I especially liked was that he pointed me toward a local mortgage lender. Once again I got another great deal on the financing and the two of them worked together seamlessly which made the whole process just go that much more smoothly. Martin was responsive. He took the time to listen to what was important to me and did not try to push me into anything that did not feel right to me. Now I will soon be settled into what for me is my dream home!!!

I got lucky finding Martin by chance when calling to inquire about a particular home listing on Zillow. Being from out of state, I couldn’t drive by homes on my own. He took the time to walk me through the house on a virtual tour (even into the crawl space!). Although I did not go for that house, it gave me a better idea of what I should be looking for. I found another home I loved online. With very short notice, Martin set me up with a tour and a great loan company to work with. He had an offer on the house for me within a couple days. Unfortunately, we lost to a ridiculous all-cash offer, but nonetheless I was very impressed by Martin’s knowledge, agility and work ethic. Couple weeks later I came back to Portland with a list of houses to view…again with very little notice. Martin set up tours for all these on a Saturday plus a home he picked out for me in an area I hadn’t considered. Martin knows how to read between the lines in home listings – and he knows Portland and the surrounding areas well. All the homes I chose were unimpressive in-person. The home he picked was a winner. I had come across the listing earlier, but disregarded it because of poor photos. Martin saw potential and hidden equity and knew that I would love the area. He expertly guided the negotiation process from the initial offer through numerous difficult inspections and final agreement. This saved me thousands off the asking price. The seller was EXTREMELY challenging and the closing process was delayed due to Covid and back-up in the loan industry. He navigated it all! Martin got me a great deal on a great house!! I highly recommend Martin Tijmes for your next home buying adventure!

He was always available and supportive in obtaining any information needed regarding the home, such as prior repairs, installations etc. He negotiated with the seller on items of concern. Very friendly, honest, responsible, accountable and great negotiator. During the home inspection home issues where reported and he negotiated with the seller to correct all of the problems. Yupiii. The most important thing for us was honesty and accountability and Martin delivered.

Martin, after visiting us in our cramped, dark Seattle apartment, gave us some great advice that prompted us to start looking for a home of our own. Although he was not our main agent, because we are not in his local market, he gave us fantastic Real Estate agent and financing contacts in our area. He stayed in contact with us throughout the process and provided us with great advice that helped keep us on track to getting our house. Definitely recommend Martin.
