Mary was fantastic. We first met her back in 2020 when she helped us buy our first house and she was so amazing through that entire process. We looked at over 50 houses and had to deal with the crazy market of having houses be gone in a few hours. After we bought our house Mary stayed in touch, she invited us to a few client appreciation events and checked in to see how we were doing. We then reached out to her when we were moving and needed to sell our house and she was so helpful through that entire process. There were some hiccups with the buyer that were navigated beautifully with Mary's experience. We would absolutely recommend Mary to anyone looking to buy or sell a house.

First off, this is the realtor you want. I was a Realtor for over a year and have worked with many other Realtors. Mary is the best one I've worked which is awesome because she was helping US buy a home. We lived in NC while we were searching for homes in VA Beach. We didn't know how we were going to find a home while living 7 hours away, but Mary offered to do virtual showings for us.

A house popped up that fit what we were looking for and Mary let us know and proactively asked if we wanted to see it. We put an offer in that night and it was accepted in the morning. The next morning after the house was listed, there were over 100 showing and multiple offers. The sellers accepted ours because it was first. If not for the hard work of Mary, we would not have gotten our dream home.

Having the right Realtor makes all the difference. Mary Barclay is the right Realtor for you. You will not be disappointed. She took care of so much leg work for us. Mary came to me very highly recommended and she still managed to surpass my expectations!! This was my first home purchase and she was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, attentive, charismatic, and responsive/timely! Additionally, I was an out of town buyer and she truly went the extra mile for me during the entire process. She listened to my requests and found awesome properties, always made sure to get a tour as soon as possible, and even FaceTimed me during tours of the properties so I could still see the property real time. Her many years of experience we clearly apparent as she effortlessly guided me through every step of the way. When it came time to make an offer I feel like she truly listened to me and we were able to come up with a creative and aggressive offer to get me the perfect house I’d been hoping for! Now that I have moved in to my new property she has continued to check in occasionally to make sure the transition has been smooth and any questions I have are still being answered. She even left me a sweet note and some housewarming gifts on my day of closing, a really sweet personal touch! If you ever need a realtor definitely use Mary, you won’t be disappointed!!

We are a military family, that was trying to buy a house out of state. Mary did so much virtual for us, facetime showings, over-the-phone conversations, lenders over the phone, etc. She was so professional and took her time with us to find a home that meant our needs! We cannot say enough great things about our home buying experience with Mary as our realtor. We relocated from out of state to the Virginia area and Mary’s knowledge and expertise helped us buy the perfect home. We were particular about the area and school district that we wanted, and Mary was patient with us as we waited for a house to come available in that area. Mary communicated with us daily and made sure we were informed through the entire process and answered all questions that arose. A lot of the home buying process was done via FaceTime for us and never once did we feel uneasy about the process. Mary was quick to schedule showings for us and able to view most of them the same day.

In addition, Mary was able to recommend and schedule a trusted home inspector for us. She was able to secure a home inspection the day after our offer was accepted, so that we could be present for the home inspection. Mary also recommended local mortgage lender for us after our trusted bank failed to meet our expectations.

Mary went above and beyond for us, and we are truly thankful for her and the wonderful experience we had buying a home with her as our relator. We will be recommending her for years to come!

My wife and I were first time home buyers and didn’t know anything about the process and were a little hesitant going into it. Mary came highly recommended from co-workers who she had helped purchase a home in the area. Mary was extremely helpful in helping us understand the process from start to finish. When she first told us that the whole process would take about 30 days we were skeptical. We looked at a lot of properties within the next two weeks and found a place that was just what we were looking for. Mary was in contact with us daily even though we started the process just before Christmas. Everything went way smoother than I could have ever imagined and we are in our new home and it took less than the 30 days she had said it could take. Mary is extremely knowledgeable and worked with us one on one to make sure we were getting the best price possible. I have so much to say when it comes to having Mary as our realtor. Where should I even start? She has been absolutely incredible and helpful all throughout. My husband and I are first-time homebuyers and despite our constant indecision and all the hurdles any buyer may face due to the current housing market climate, Mary knew how to navigate through it all and she always had our backs. No matter the time of the day she was always there to accommodate us. You know you’ve found the best realtor when he/she 1.) knows the market so well 2.) always has the clients’ best interest 3.) is proactive 4.) has topnotch negotiation skills 5.) will go above and beyond for his/her clients. That’s all the things you will learn about Mary. We are so thankful we came across her during our initial home search. The realtor of all Realtor's! She showed us plenty of houses in our range and area of choice. She even monitored the houses that we liked but had contingent offer just in case it fell through. Low and behold one she was keeping an eye on fell through, she immediately showed it to us before any others had a chance to get in and show it, she immediately dropped our offer in record time and it was excepted. Throughout the rest of the process she kept in constant contact with our mortgage company telling us information hours before the mortgage contacted us. Bottom line, Mary is the Best!

We reached out to Mary in early January 2021 to discuss possibly selling our home of 16 years and looking for a new home that better met our needs and wants. Mary was very detailed and took her time to answer all of our questions and provide great advice as we prepared our home for listing. When listing day came, we had over 40 showings and almost 20 competitive offers over the course of a weekend. Mary took care of everything and expertly handled scheduling these showings to give each potential buyer their own time to view our home. Most of our offers were for above asking price and Mary was able to negotiate with our selected buyer tollgate allowed us to rent back while we continued to look for our next home. Closing went very smoothly and again Mary took care of everything.

All the while Mary jumped every time we found a listing we wanted to see. She always made time for us and we never waited more than a half day to view any house that we wanted, with most occurring within a couple hours. Mary was very patient as we began to narrow in on the type of home and location we preferred. When the time came and we found a house to put an offer on, she provided excellent, current, and sound advice regarding our offer strategy. The current market is extremely competitive and we worked together to not only write now standard escalation clauses on our offer, but also implemented a similar strategy to include escalations to our guarantee above appraised value. Doing so not only allowed us to offer a competitive guarantee, but protected us from over paying when compared to other offers. This proved a winning strategy. We were very fortunate to have our first offer accepted and the credit all goes to Mary.

In addition, Mary assembled for us a trusted team of attorneys, home inspector, septic inspector, and mortgage lender. Our experience with them all was top notch and I will be leaving reviews for them all.

Our experience with Mary was absolutely awesome. While we plan to be in our new home for a long time, I would run back to Mary if we ever need help buying or selling a home. I highly recommend her without hesitation.

We moved five times over the last eight years and engaged the service of a real estate agent every time. Mary was the best. Most if not all agents are professional and appear to be personal and caring; if they are not they would not last very long. What is different about Mary is that she genuinely cares about her clients and goes out of her way to do what is best for the clients. She is also very careful with details and proactive. Mary is absolutely incredible! I don't think I have met anyone quite as perky as she is, she is so easy to talk to, I never felt dumb when I thought I was asking the weirdest of questions. She takes you under her wing and lets you know everything, the great and the bad. Her responsiveness is impeccable, if you ask her a question she gets to back to so quick. Mary is the absolute best! She was amazing throughout the entire process. She was very caring and it felt like we were hanging out with a friend, a very knowledgeable friend. We found a house right away but then we decided to back out and Mary was right there with more options for us to go look at. We went and looked at so many houses and it seemed like we wouldn't find another one that we loved but Mary never gave up and encouraged us to keep our spirits up. We listed our home for sale 5 times over the past twelve years with different agents. It was a beautiful home in mint condition but for whatever reason it never sold so we had to keep renting it. Abruptly our tenant informed us that they had to break their lease because of job loss during COVID19. I met Mary on a Thursday and by the next Tuesday I had a contract on a house. That Friday, all the inspections were done and all I had to do was sit back and wait for closing.
