Mary Ellen Baur is a Suffolk native who is proud to call “Peanut City” home. Growing up in the timber industry, she has an intimate knowledge of land management. Mary Ellen received her BFA degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master's in Education from Old Dominion. Before beginning her real estate career at Cross, she worked in admissions at Virginia Wesleyan University and was the HR Director at Ashton Lewis Lumber. Mary Ellen and her husband also ran a family logging business, Baur Logging. Mary Ellen currently serves as a Commissioner on the City of Suffolk's Planning Commission and teaches group fitness classes at the Suffolk Family YMCA. She is an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in downtown Suffolk and enjoys volunteering in the local community. She loves all things outdoors: fishing, hunting, sailing – but most of all, spending time with her twin boys, Charlie and Ashton. Mary Ellen has always been a solution-oriented person who utilizes her knowledge, skills and experience to get results.
