Matt began his career in television at WCJB in Gainesville, Florida while at the University of Florida. As a reporter and anchor, Matt has conducted one-on-one interviews with Secretary of State, Madeline Albright, Vice President Al Gore, even Oprah Winfrey.
From 2014-2017 Matt was nominated, "Best Local TV Personality," by the Washington Blade newspaper.

Matt has been recognized as a top producer by Washingtonian Magazine from 2019-2022.
