Maureen is very knowledgeable about the surrounding market and priced our house appropriately so that we were able to get a full ask offer in four days. She also helped us navigate our tricky schedule and rent back situation as we wanted to stay in the house a couple weeks after our child was born. She saw us through the whole rent back period and made sure we were reimbursed as agreed upon with the new owner.

Sold our house in Franklin Farm within a month of listing and got a record high price -- all about research, timing, staging and strategy. She is smart, professional, knows the market well, very honest, and backed by experienced brokers in her agency. She also sold a house for our neighbors at Hunters Green Cluster in Reston and also sold quickly and got a good price. I would recommend her to anyone who needs a good realtor in Northern Virginia.

We bought and sold a house with Maureen a couple of years ago. She helped us get a fantastic price for our single family home. She had us de clutter and put things into storage. She told us things we could do to get top dollar and she helped us figure out how to do things in a cost effective manner. She didn't insist that we do more work than we were willing to do and she helped us present our house in the best light possible. She was straight with us about timing, suggesting a target date for putting the house on the market, and we and she worked hard to make it happen, with spectacular results. We were so pleased, we recommended her to or next door neighbors and they used her services to sell their house when they had to transfer. Again, I saw how hard Maureen worked and how considerate she was to a young family with two toddlers through a really tough process.

In my uninformed opinion, timing was part of the problem facing the negative poster, who also lives in my neighborhood. They put the house on the market in the middle of winter. When they changed realtors the weather improved and so did sales.

Over the years we have bought and sold six houses. We have had a lackluster realtor and we know what that is like--and that is NOT Maureen. She will work hard for you. She will be honest with you and she will respect your opinions. I would and still do highly recommend her.

We have worked with Maureen on the purchase and sale of 4 houses over the last 10 years. In each and every case she was an effective caring advocate helping us through this process. Her integrity is apparent in all of her interactions with both the buyer and the seller to get things done the right way. In addition, because of her many years of working in the community, she provides an extensive network of professionals that help in this process. Basically she gets the job done in a way that makes your life easier during something that can be disruptive to your life.

She is patient, understanding and thorough in walking you through the process of buying and selling your home. I saw this with my mother when she purchased a home with Maureen and my husband and I experienced this with our sales and purchases. Seven days a week, most hours of the day, she makes herself available to her clients and appears to have an endless supply of energy given the last minute requests and issues she was able to respond to or field.

She is well known in the community and every single time that we mentioned that she was our realtor, doors opened for us helping us navigate this process. People were happy to work with us expediting this process stating that we were lucky to have Maureen working for us, citing her professionalism, caring and knowledge of the real estate market.

You will not find a harder working or more professional realtor than Maureen Dawson. Maureen was great right from the start. Before I had even signed a contract with her she was already offering me advice and guidance on how best to position and market my house. Her advice in prepping my home for showings was spot on. Sometimes we want to think our houses are perfect, but our individual tastes may not suit the general population/market. Maureen understands the market and helped me see where things could be tweaked to help improve the general marketability and appeal of the house – things that I would have resisted, but I trusted her, and she ultimately proved correct based on comments from potential buyers and the final purchaser. With absolutely minimal expense, she helped craft and execute a plan to spruce up a dated looking house into a much more inviting home. Maximizing existing items she re-staged my home such that long-time visitors were shocked at how nice the home presented. Maureen volunteered, and freely brought in a large amount of her own houseware/furniture/accessory pieces to help update the look that enhanced the “curb” and interior feel and appeal. She was hands-on in every respect and made every effort to get my house sold.
Realtors work in a space where the home seller has unrealistic expectations as to how great, and how valuable their home is, and at the same time the buyer wants to pay an unrealistically lower price than the house is worth. This is a dichotomy that many realtors and people do not understand – as the offers come in the challenge is how to walk this fine line of managing all expectations to arrive at a deal. Maureen Dawson understands this completely and proved to be an expert in bringing together all sides the recent sale of my home. I can definitively say my sale would not have happened without Maureen. Her dedication and persistence in working through the sale was awesome! I could not have asked for an agent to work harder and be more on top of things. She was diplomatic in working with difficult demanding buyers and an inexperienced buyer’s agent, and deftly managed them throughout the process. I valued her experience and advice and it always proved correct in getting the home sold.

Dependable, knowledgable and responsive! Those are three words that best describe Maureen Dawson.

My husband and I worked with Maureen to buy our very first home and I am confident we will always remember the experience fondly. We had heard some scary stories about the home-buying process from other friends and we are so lucky we found Maureen to be our guide.

Neither my husband or I had ever bought a home so all we had when starting the process was anecdotal knowledge and tons of questions. Plus, we were excited and anxious to find the perfect place to start our family! Maureen was completely accommodating and reassuring along the way, and she was able to answer all our questions about the home buying process. Each time we spoke with Maureen we became more and more confident about the process of buying a home.

Prior to our first meeting, we provided Maureen with our house criteria and a few areas we were interested in. Once we arrived at her office, we noticed a bulletin board with information about another area with a new metro line and we let her know we were interested in that area as well. She immediately changed gears to cater to our needs and found several homes that met our criteria in the various zip codes we were interested in and off we went to look at houses. With her positive attitude and wonderful sense of humor, she greatly reduced our concerns about the process and pointed out things about each of the properties that we wouldn't have noticed otherwise. As a person who has lived in Northern Virginia for a long time, Maureen has a vast knowledge about the area. Once we found a home we liked, Maureen took us to a local shopping center and we all ordered some coffee and took a minute to review the afternoon of house-hunting and the various properties we found.

Once we were ready to put in an offer, Maureen was available to us and lent expertise and helpful suggestions along the way. Within a month of starting the house search, we closed on our home and we were thrilled!!

Maureen has decades of experience in real estate and we truly felt at ease working with her. Buying a property can be a very stressful and overwhelming process, but with Maureen, we knew she had our best interests at heart. My husband and I had no idea where to begin when buying our first home. We did enough research and found Maureen to be a delight to work with. She walked us through the entire home buying process, showed us properties within our budget and in several areas of various counties since my husband and I were extremely indecisive on location. We walked in to one property and we knew. She made recommendations for our benefit and overall did a stellar job.

She was patient, persistent, and respectful from start to finish. Her ourgoing and friendly personality was welcoming and knew when it came to negotiolating, she had our best interest at heart.

Trust us when we say we have heard stories of bad or unavailable realitors from peers/family when buying their first home. As for my husband and I, we don't have those types of stories to tell because we were 100% happy with Maureen's involvement, advice, and respect during the challenging, nerve-racking, and exciting time of buying a home.
