Meg Rooney is a Sales Agent with Harry Norman - Big Canoe - North Georgia office. She grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and graduated from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas with a degree in accounting. Once her daughter and son left home to begin their own lives, Meg and her husband Mark decided to leave their Gwinnett County home of thirty years and move to Big Canoe, which she likes to call Adult Camp. While she loves showing people around Big Canoe and sharing her love of the community, her favorite guests to entertain in Big Canoe are her two grandsons.

Prior to real estate, she had a forty-year successful accounting career where she consulted for fourteen years with the Department of Justice as well as serving as the Controller and Chief Financial Officer of several business located in Florida and Georgia. It was her position as the Chief Financial Officer for a renowned metro area Developer that wetted her appetite for real estate.
Meg has proven her dedication to helping people throughout her life and in 2019 was honored by the Gwinnett Swim League by naming a scholarship after her to thank her for over twenty years of volunteering. The Meg Rooney Foster Program pays for ten foster children a year to participate in the Gwinnett Swim League. Meg also served three years on the Board of Directors for Leadership Big Canoe. Meg has enjoyed merging her love of helping people with her love of Big Canoe by assisting people in finding their perfect home in Big Canoe or any surrounding area or selling their home as they venture into the next phase of their life. She has been a member of the Harry Norman Success Circle every full year of her career as well as the Pickens County Board of Realtors Circle of Excellence of which she is also a Lifetime Member.
Meg brings her high energy and attention to details as she transitions from her successful accounting career of more than 40 years to real estate. Her years of forensic accounting taught her to how to go above and beyond in her research for her business clients, an approach she is finding serves her real estate clients perfectly. Her years of consulting with the Department of Justice has trained her to pay attention to details, both the obvious and the obscure. Careful listening is also a key element of that training and she is finding it effective as she works with clients to find their perfect home. Her clients are already benefiting from her ability to thoroughly research property and analyze the data findings from that research as she helps them determine the value of the property they are buying or selling. Recognizing that purchasing and selling a home are two of the biggest personal business transactions her clients will ever experience is the final benefit that makes Meg a natural choice as your Realtor®.
