About Melissa

Melissa Dooley, a sales associate with Long & Foster Real Estate’s Chesapeake Sales Office, Virginia. Melissa came on board after moving from Annapolis, Maryland where she spent 6 years in real estate. She was introduced as a residential client and liked it so much she joined. In the practice of residential sales, she is well known for great customer service, consistent communication, strong attention to detail and ensuring a positive experience for all parties in a transaction; buyers, sellers, and cooperating brokers/agents.

Melissa was raised in the Detroit, Michigan area and joined the Navy after high school. She loves to travel all over the world and has been to 22 countries and lived in Spain for 3 years.

In 2012, she retired from the Navy with over 27 years of military service. This is the time she also joined a competitor, a global leader in real estate services, because of their high standards for business integrity. As a newly licensed individual sales associate, she was awarded the Rookie of the Year in 2013 and received the Shining Start Award. Surprisingly, much of Melissa’s understanding of excellent client services stems from her decorated backyard as a Naval Nurse. The common thread getting to know her clients as real people and taking care of them from beginning to end. As a nurse with a focus on client care, process improvement and leadership, Melissa believes in navigating clients through the real estate process to best suit their needs. She implements her years of life experience to help achieve goals with the least stress possible. Whether you are a first time Buyer or a seasoned Seller, she provides a welcoming energy and prospective to your next real estate transaction. Melissa has specialized in helping those relocating become familiar with all that the Baltimore/Washington DC Metro, and the Hampton Roads area has to offer. Past clients include employees relocating from The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), The Boeing Company, The Department of Defense, Veterans, Retirees, and all branches of the military.

A graduate of Marymount University, and a wife, Jim and Melissa have been married for 21 years. They are back in Chesapeake, where they enjoy their 2 Spanish Water Dogs, Izze and Luisa, living near the water, and many of their military friends and family. All enjoy spending time on their boat, and sampling Jim’s culinary cooking. Melissa and the dogs go fishing with her husband sometimes, only when the weather is right. She strives to expand outreach in the community through involvement with the Naval Academy Sponsorship Program, area schools, and the American Heart Association. She feels it is important to give back to the community to help others enjoy an excellent quality of life.
