My wife and I worked with Mel to find a house in central Connecticut in 2021 and had a wonderful experience. We told her in advance that we were interested in looking and ready to buy if we found the right house but weren't in any rush. We worried that a realtor wouldn't find that proposition appealing, but Mel was extremely helpful and patient throughout, taking us to see a number of houses over several months and never making us feel rushed to make an offer. She was always quick to answer our questions and text messages, even at times of the day when we wouldn't have expected a realtor to get back to us.

As first-time housebuyers, we were pretty clueless--both about aspects of owning a home and the actual process of buying one--but Mel was able to help walk us through everything and instill us with confidence. She really knows her stuff, calling out various issues with houses we saw, including some with the house we ultimately bought (and which were verified by the house inspection).

2021 was a challenging time to actually get an offer accepted, and we had a number of offers turned down in favor of others, but Mel kept us motivated and positive that the right one would work out (and sure enough, it did). We loved working with Mel and would absolutely recommend her.

My daughter and son-in-law used Mel to find their dream house and my husband had tagged along to give fatherly input to my daughter and he felt Mel was a person that worked really hard at her job and was a real professional. Words can't describe how grateful we are for Mel (and for our close friends for recommending her to us!). Throughout the home buying process, Mel was patient, informative, responsive and compassionate. My husband and I felt very supported and our concerns/anxiety about buying our first home were put at ease thanks to Mel and her team! Due to the craziness of the market right now, we had to visit homes within 24-hours and put an offer in immediately if we were interested - Mel responded right away when we sent her a home we were interested in seeing; she always got us in the same day, and walked us through the offer process and explained everything in detail. Melissa and Jeff were very helpful from start to finish. They advised us how we should show our house to get the most out of it. They gave us in the market comparisons of what we should sell our house for, they didn't tell us a price, we told them our asking price. They were very professional and checked in with us through the entire process. On closing day I was at work and the buyer wanted some cabinets removed from the garage before the closing and Melissa and Jeff took care of it. They went above and beyond to insure we had a smooth and no delay closing. My wife and I appreciated everything they did for us.

Through a challenging (and much delayed) home buying process, in the midst of a pandemic no less, Mel Rothman was our rock the entire time. From the first showing we had with Mel, it was evident how much she knew about home construction and all the little details that make or break a house, and how much she was concerned with finding exactly the right home for us. From late night, last minute showings to make sure we had a chance to bid on a great place, all the way through till the final walkthrough and closing, Mel was amazing and a constant source of reassurance during the stressful process of buying a home.
There's a difference between any old realtor that can find you a house, and a genuine advocate who will make sure your have the perfect HOME for your family; Mel Rothman is that difference. I cannot recommend her enough, and hope that you have the chance to work with her like we did.
