If someone told me six months ago that I would be buying a house I had never set foot in on another continent I would have immediately lost consciousness. I put my trust in Micah after getting a couple personal recommendations, and he has literally been a hero. He bent over backwards to accommodate my crazy timeline changing duty stations from Germany to Virginia, VA loan questions, was an expert in the neighborhoods, and gave much needed advice and reassurance to a first time buyer/long time knucklehead. A little about me: I'm a high-maintenance, bougie, indecisive woman who thinks she knows what she wants, only to send a new list of homes that don't fit the original wish list the next minute.

Micah worked with me for over five months as I transitioned from Japan with three young children, preparing to return to the States after 3.5 years, with no car and no home.

Despite the time zone difference, Micah woke up early and stayed up late to respond to my messages. When I felt defeated, Micah reminded me to have faith.

Micah was an absolute class act! We first contacted him in 2020 and after deciding the timing was off for our family he continued to check in and follow up with us, without being pushy! In 2023 we decided to follow through and build our dream home!

I cannot overstate the ease felt by my husband and I and the expertise executed by Micah Lee in helping us secure a home we love. We are a dual-military couple and had extremely limited time to see our favorite listings before our cross-country move. Micah started off by getting to know what was important to us in order to get us premier listings accordingly. He kept some truly amazing listings coming in the weeks before our trip to see them.
When we were able to travel to VA to get a look at our favorites, Micah had the whole day mapped out to maximize our choices. The whole time, he provided live-time feedback and recommendations which helped tremendously to keep our expectations realistic and prevent surprises. Anyone in the market knows the photo magic of an online listing we what you really see in-person. Micah was quick to point out hazards and issues which could present long-term expenses so that we didn’t waste time on any duds.
We fell in love with one of his listings and had to pursue a competitive offer to combat 4 other bids. Had we not had Micah in our corner, I’m confident that we would have either overpaid, or worse yet, lost out on the house and returned to the west coast empty-handed. We saw the house on Saturday, made an offer on Sunday, and had an accepted offer on Monday! This guy knows all the ins & outs. Buying a home in VA from CA under military orders truly takes a village but Micah has contacts for EVERYTHING and EVERYONE! Micah was great! We were moving to Norfolk due to military orders and were unable to visit the city before making an offer. Micah made this easy by getting to know our interests and preferences and setting up a specific search. He then visited multiple homes for us, sent us thorough video tours of the houses and streets, commented on any areas of concern, and debriefed with us extensively. Once we were ready to move forward, he had everything scheduled for an easy transaction that we were able to complete from out of state. We also wanted a bit of work done at the house before we moved in, and he was able to help us find contractors and facilitate entry so that things could be worked on before our arrival. Micah was on top of everything we asked of him but more importantly he was on top of all the aspects of buying a home that we had no idea about. He is extremely personable and made us feel like he was taking care of our family. His personal touches included making dinner reservations to welcome home signs on the lawn and many in between!
Knowledgeable of the market and noticed details of the houses we were interested in that we would’ve never known or asked about. He truly was making sure we were covered in various ways throughout the process and he responded to our questions day or night. He has countless contacts for fixing or updating the homes which is nice for a one-stop-shop for recommendations. You can see examples of what Micah does in other reviews so I will just share specific examples that stood out to me (first time home buyer):
1. He explained zillow and their prices and the difference between an actual assessment and was straight forward with expectations.
2. There wasn't any, "what I would do," talk which I appreciated, but solid and grounded advice.
3. It was the at the back and forth stage for repairs and what not and I think Micah was going on vacation and I figured we would just pick this up when he was back...boy I was so wrong. He called us before he left on the plane then I think when he landed and then maybe when he got to his destination with updates.
4. When the seller didn't agree with the assessment and wanted over asking, he reduced his commission to see my wife and I get in the home we wanted.

I had a painless experience with the whole process and it was greatly appreciated.

Micah was the best thing that could of happened to me in my house hunting process. From the very beginning he made the seemingly daunting process of buying a house easy to understand and simple. Once he set up my house search criteria on the MLS (allowing me to see houses the first day they appear on the market) it was smooth sailing from there.
