Michael is a man of his word. He promised he could handle a very difficult property for me and did exactly that.

As an out-of-state investor, I had struggled with a difficult investment property for years. Fortunately, I found Michael and his Straight-A Realty team earlier this year. They helped me address code and tenant issues to prepare the property for listing. Michael then implemented an innovative marketing approach for the property and quickly got it under contract for full asking price.

Michael, Brittany, and team deftly guided the deal through due diligence and were super communicative the entire time.

I recommend Straight-A Realty without reservation for any need you may have from selling, buying, or borrowing to property management or rehabs.

I will definitely use Michael and Straight-A Realty again if I invest in Chicago.

I cannot speak highly enough about my experience working with my property management team who also served as my listing agent for the recent sale of my building. From start to finish they were the absolute perfect fit for the job. Because they had placed the tenants themselves and managed the property with outstanding professionalism they were uniquely equipped to showcase the building as truly turn key. Every system was in place every detail accounted for and all documentation was readily available to back it up.

I gave them a target profit I hoped to hit and not only did they meet that number they more than doubled it. We broke records closing at the highest sale ever recorded for that zip code. What impressed me just as much as the result was the dedication strategy and emotional support they brought to the process. My listing agent walked me through every step and stood by me during the toughest moments including times when I was ready to unravel.

One of the most meaningful parts of this process was how my agent personally communicated with each tenant to prepare them for the transition. He made sure they felt informed supported and respected throughout the sale. He addressed their concerns assisted with any challenges they had and created a smooth experience for everyone involved. That human element mattered to me and he handled it with compassion and professionalism.

We never had to relist or reactivate. They found the perfect buyer someone who did not cause tenant displacement which was extremely important to me. That level of care and consideration made all the difference. My agent went far beyond what any agent is typically expected to do. He personally communicated with the buyer the buyer’s agent the lender and the attorney to ensure the deal would close successfully. Every time a roadblock came up and there were plenty he immediately came up with a solution.

There was never a moment when my agent or the team weren’t fully present and hands-on. No matter the hour or the challenge, they stayed involved, responsive, and solution-focused. Their commitment never wavered, and I always felt like a priority. They gave me full confidence that the deal would get done and it did. Over asking. Record setting. Stress minimizing. I could not have asked for a better team.

If you’re looking for someone who knows how to manage a property and sell it at top dollar while navigating every obstacle with skill heart and care for both owners and tenants this is the team you want.

I've worked with Mike on several property sales and received excellent results. I just finished closing on my old home and it was a great relief. Out of four sales, my home was the most complicated yet Mike and his team were able to get marketing done fast and get a buyer to the table. There were a few hiccups... but after fussing at Mike (mostly about things out of his control) he took it well and actually came back with a higher sale price and more for me in the end.

I recently moved out of state. Found Michael by his sign at a house down the block from me. Sent a note and he got back quickly and came out the next day to see the home before we had it cleaned up. We agreed to keep in touch since we weren't ready. A month later called him back in and Michael's energy was there from the start. After seeing all the work we had completed, he thought we'd get top dollar for the home. He quickly went into action, arranging photo shoots, and preparing listing copy (which I was able to help with). We moved out on a Saturday and had an open house Sunday. He found us a buyer that day, offer in hand Sunday night, and we were pending by Tuesday. It was an FHA loan which can be more complicated but Michael and the Straight A team, along with his attorney suggestion (Accuna Law) went from pending to close in a little over 30 days. Trust Michael and the Straight A team with your property sale or home search - very communicative with quick answers.

We had acquired a property in Sauk Village. Through our legal team, we were introduced to Michael Applegate and his company, Straight-A Realty. We contacted Michael and over a short period of time, Michael gained our trust and introduced us to his professional team. They guided us through the multitude of steps and decisions that resulted in the successful sale of our property. We were introduced to D'Andre Daye and Brittany Jones, both members of Michael's team.
At Michael's suggestion, we engaged Arpad Bartha to rehab and upgrade our property. Under Arpy's direction, Arpy's associates did a wonderful job, inside and out, top to bottom, giving attention and his input about relevant choices which included new drywall, windows, doors, flooring, bathroom fixtures, lighting, appliances, fresh paint, inside and out, new roof, driveway, and landscaping. The asking price was higher than other area properties, but justified based on the updated value.
Thanks to Michael and his team for their collective professionalism throughout the process. We are very pleased with a successful sale.
