In my life, I've made many good decisions, as well as bad ones. Regardless of their overall impact, most of them are forgettable shortly thereafter; or they provided only a short-lived sense of satisfaction. Then there are the handful of decisions I've made that I can look back on, knowing I made one great decision (I mean that amazingly great type of decision). One of those "amazingly great" decisions... my decision to work with Mike. I already know that when I look back decades from now, I will still have a great sense of appreciation for my experience with Mike! I was left extremely impressed and can say confidently that Mike is diligent, thorough, realistic, experienced, easy to work with, an excellent communicator, and he doesn't need to be micromanaged because he manages the transaction efficiently start-to-finish. Therefore, I highly recommend him, no matter your objective - whether you are looking to buy; especially if you want to sell; whether you are an investor or just an eager home buyer or seller. He's a great professional and a great person!

PS - To qualify my review; I literally vetted Mike (I asked him to complete a 4-page document for my review and due diligence). Likewise, I chose him over five other agents I was also considering/interviewing. Lastly, my experience with Mike was my neither my first, second, or third real estate transaction... so Mike was also not the first real agent I've worked with. Further to that point, I look forward to working with Mike again.

Mike Burns is a total pro and we are so thankful to have worked with him over the past 10+ years. He's helped us with both buying and selling - all with smooth and completely positive transactions. We recently sold our home and were concerned that the time of year was not ideal for the market. But he allayed our fears and worked with us - step by step - through some specific challenges, to make the process as easy on us as possible. We recently worked with Mike Burns on the purchase of our new home. Mike came highly recommended to us and he did not disappoint. We were under a tight time frame to make it happen before our two kids started school. We laid out a plan to make it happen and together we executed it to perfection. We toured many homes in a variety of locations to narrow our search down to the right house in the perfect neighborhood. Once we identified the neighborhood we focused our attention there and turned our attention to ensuring we got the house that “checked all of our boxes”. He was always available to us to either meet or discuss our questions or desires, and trust me there were plenty mornings started and evenings the ended with Mike listening to our questions or rendering advice. His professionalism, knowledge of the local market is second to none. This is the third purchase that we’ve made in the DC area and by far the best experience that we’ve had with a realtor. I could tell that he had our best interests in mind at all times. It would have been easy for him to allow or encourage us to pursue a home or two that we were interested in but were overpriced. As I said, we were under a time crunch and eager to get a deal done, but Mike was the voice of reason keeping us in line and in the end getting us the house we wanted for the right price. It’s refreshing to deal with a realtor that isn’t just looking to close one deal at any cost just so that they can turn their focus on to the next one. I can honestly say that I hope we never have to move again, but if we do I’ll be giving Mike a call!

Michael Burns is an excellent real estate broker. He worked to accurately gauged the market value of my home and then developed a listing strategy to maximize the sale price while minimizing the time to sale. He also helped me to stage house and make small repairs to meet the buyers repairs request arising from the home inspection. Michael completely managed the process of getting multiple quotes for the repairs and then overseeing the repairs themselves. Finally, Michael walked me thru the entire process using language I could easily understand, and helped me get thru rough patches in the negotiations when I was ready to walk (which, as it turned out, would not have been in my interest.) Mike is a fantastic agent! I went through both the buying and selling process with him over the years. If I were not moving across country, I would continue to work with him.

He does his research, very knowledge, has the right contacts (which was helpful to get through the home inspection for selling!), and extremely patient. I am excessively detailed oriented and he adapted to my style to answer all my questions thoroughly. In addition, he does not overwhelm you with details prematurely, which I appreciated. When the time was right, he would share with us the information as needed.

In my most recent experience, he facilitated our selling process while we were across the country! He is such a trusted advisor that we did not feel compelled at all to fly back for the closing. He gave us a great peace of mind, and he helped us negotiate and obtain our target prices!

I decided I wanted to stop wasting money on rent and it was time to buy a place. I'm relatively new to the area and didn't know who to choose as a Realtor. Mike was referred to me by a friend who used him to find a place.

Mike is the most patient and upfront Realtor I've ever dealt with. It took me over a year to find a place that I liked and in a location I was comfortable spending a lot of money in. He must have showed me over 100 houses and on top of that, he would preview the houses before taking me to see them in order to not waste my time. It only took him one or two trips with me before he knew exactly what I wanted. The market and my unwillingness to settle for something made it very difficult to find a place, but he continued to look with me.

Mike is very polite and he'll tell you how it is, even if it means he'll have to work a little harder to get you into the right property.

Thanks again for everything Mike - You'll hear from me when I'm ready to sell!!
