Michael Reames

Mike has lived on the Peninsula his entire life. When he was 4 years old, his parents moved from Hampton to Yorktown, where he attended school from elementary to high school. As a teen, he started his own landscaping business and had residential and business clients up and down the Route 17 corridor.

Mike attended Clemson University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science and Management. While at Clemson, he met his wife, Jill. They chose to call Yorktown their home where they would raise their family. Jill works for York County Public schools as a first-grade teacher at Dare Elementary. Together they have three children, Jackson a senior at Hampden Sydney, Andy a freshman at Hampden Sydney, and Meredith a junior at York High School.

After college, Mike worked for a local commercial and industrial construction company. Starting as a project estimator and then moving to a field supervisor, he built many of the area’s landmark buildings such as the Ferguson Performing Arts Center and the Harrison Opera House. His company also built many of our local schools and he has worked in most of the industrial plants and facilities including Newport News Shipbuilding, Siemens, and Canon. Upon Mike and his brother purchasing the company, Mike became the CEO and ran all of the field crews.

In 2011, Mike and his family decided it was time for a professional change and he began his real estate career. In 2012 he recruited Tiffany McDonough and together they quickly became one of the area’s most successful real estate teams. Together they have sold over 375 homes and have provided counsel to countless more clients. They pride themselves on providing guidance and advice that serve the best interest of the client, not the transaction. The Reames Realty Group office is located in Yorktown.
