I started in real estate in 2000 and instantly developed a love for the business of real estate. Each transaction is incredibly unique. Just as each person who buys a home is an individual personality - each person has a certain way they want to do business. Each seller has a way they prefer to receive information and the way they want their home presented. Each buyer has a way they like to look at homes.
Our markets have become incredibly diverse between the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids areas. There are now so many different types of property and the two areas are very closely linked. More and more often, people desire to work in one community in the area and live in another. I belong to both the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids multiple listing services for this reason.
Accessing both MLS systems allows me to market effectively in all communities and to present the whole picture of homes available to buyers. Between the two MLS systems there are nearly 1000 real estate agents. By being able to access both systems I have access to the listings of all of those agents, plus am able to provide my listings through them to their buyers.
I joined Skogman Realty in 2009 in an exciting move to the corridor area, not just in service, as I had worked in corridor real estate for many years, but also as an expansion office to Skogman Realty's rich history of exceptional real estate service in the Cedar Rapids area. My oldest is now a student at Iowa (Go Hawks). We enjoy participating in sports and community groups such as Junior Achievement and United Way.
