Mike is one of the best real estate agents that we've worked with, and was an integral part of a collaborative effort to sell my father's rental property. From the walkthrough, to the listing details and pictures, all the way to closing, Mike kept us abreast of every step of the process and was very attentive to our questions and needs, which we found very refreshing. The irony of the situation. Mike reached out to us months ago after I browsed the Premier Homes Realty website in St Augustine. We mentioned at the time we were interested to view homes in the area and he started sending us Property Listings. However, it took at least 2 months for us to finally make the trip to St Augustine after traveling throughout Florida looking for our next home, to no avail.

Mike is amazing. He worked so hard for us and was always willing to do whatever it took. We originally wanted an overpriced fixer-upper with a joy-challenged selling realtor. It was hard to watch him go to battle for us again and again but he did it without complaining. He had a great attitude and was so positive. He made sure we understood every part of everything, too. Luckily, we were able to get out of the first situation and Mike got us into the best house immediately after it was listed and worked his magic to beat out so many other offers. Little more than 2 months ago my wife and I decided that we wanted to sell our house and move out to the country. We had absolutely no idea what we were doing as we had been in our other house for quite a while. A friend told us about this realtor that was the best thing since cotton candy; they went on and on about all of the work that he did and how he guided them through the process and was able to help them out so much. Me being a skeptic I took it with a grain of salt but we decided to give him a call and see what this guy was all about. Mike is the kind of guy that you don't mind being around... His smile is infectious and he's genuine to the point that he truly cares about what the buyer and in our case the seller as well wanted. The level of respect that he gives his customers is beyond what you could even expect out of anyone in the business world this day and time. He took his time helping us understand the ins and outs of what we were getting ready to go through and had no problem answering our many calls and are many texts at all hours of the day throughout the process. He taught us what to look for in a house as well as teaching us what others would be looking for when we sold ours and all of that turned out to be priceless in the end with us getting more than we ever expected for our house and being able to find our forever home. There are very few people in the business world that I would even consider to put my trust in like I do Mike Hicks. I think buying a house should be enjoyable. But the current market is kind of crazy and I was trying to purchase from out of state so I knew that might make the process less enjoyable. But Mike Hicks brought the joy! He was knowledgeable about the area, quick to respond, and always willing to go the extra mile. From sending me videos of places I was interested in to showing up for the inspection making sure everything was good. When we finally picked a place, I wanted to put in new carpet and he had a great recommendation for that as well. At the end of the day, I think that’s what you want from a realtor. Someone who can get you answers and make you feel comfortable when making a significant purchase. Mike did all that and more. Highly recommend!

My wife and I decided to move to Nocatee in the Jacksonville area from Idaho. We needed professional help and Mike provided it. When we were ready to sign a contract to build a home, Mike helped us with that process which we very much appreciated. But he also went above and beyond. For example, we hired an inspector to monitor the quality of the build. When the inspector was at the building sight, Mike was there also to see first hand how the construction was progressing. He did all that one would expect of a realtor and then some. And he's a nice guy. I would highly recommend him.

Where do I start?! Mike reached out to my husband months before he and I were even ready to start really doing this sell/buy/move thing. He was helpful in giving Lee information as questions came up even though we weren't officially clients. Once we were ready to take the first step, Mike was there to do a walk through of our home to GUIDE us in what we "might want to do/change/purge" in order to be more market ready. Then he waited. Patiently. He patiently waited longer than any of us ever thought he would need to. Our home was turning into a real life version of the money pit! One disaster would get repaired/replaced and Mike and I would have a good laugh (while my hubby, Lee, continued to stress!) and then the next hiccup in our home readiness calendar would happen! Mike was, at all times, PATIENT AND HELPFUL. He was always honest and straight forward with us as to what to expect during both the sale and buying process. He had it RIGHT from the beginning as to what our home would sell for. Someone (cough cough hubby) wasn't wanting to take the professional opinion seriously so we did as many clients did-- our own thing. LOL. Listen to Mike when he speaks! Once we were looking at homes, Mike had PAID ATTENTION all that time beforehand to know what we were looking for AND how each one of us thought things out. So as we discussed each property or reviewed it with Lee over the phone he spoke to each of us individually and as a unit. That was important to us. We each had an opinion and he helped us see things from both sides etc. He was not only a real estate agent but a marriage counselor, a communication therapist, and he provided comic relief often!! I might have to write a book on the sellers we encountered! We went to see 7 legit homes that we really liked on paper (an 8th was seen but it was a short sale and we were looking for comparison but never really thought we would make offer). Offer 1 was a bust because we were still on the market-- Mike warned us that it most likely wouldn't be accepted. And then the crazy started... once we were under contract on our home we were able to really start with serious offers but seemed to really like homes that did not have serious sellers. Wow. Just wow. WOW #1 wanted to be able to stay in and pack the home AFTER closing on the sale of it! Mike was VERY UP FRONT with all info and gave his professional opinion but left it up to us to decide since it's our money and our future home etc. (We walked away from that crazy.) WOW #2 I think Mike's crazy-o-meter was dinging from the moment we walked through the home and we looked at the comparable prices. As soon as he submitted the first offer he knew exactly what this seller was wanting and he warned us what might happen and the chance we take if we move forward etc.. Long story short, the seller wasn't going to sell under x price even if the appraisal came in lower! We would have been out the binder fee, inspection fee, and appraisal fee about to close on our home only to have our new home sale fall through because of crazy! Mike was ON TOP OF IT. He saw it coming. He advised us. But it was ALWAYS OUR CHOICE AS TO WHAT DIRECTION WE WENT.
We plan on being in this home for at least 12-15 years but if/when we are ever looking to really do this sell/buy/move thing... Mike Hicks is our guy.

My experience with Mike Hicks was flawless. I knew one other person in the area and they were new to the area, so needed someone with broad knowledge of the area. Mike not only found a great home for me, but really negotiated a good price as well. Those two things are enough reason to choose him, but for me there were two more that were more important; first was his character which he demonstrated he was trustworthy, caring, and I saw that he valued family and second he cared about me as more than just a customer. He took me to the beach with his family, he followed up on my first hurricane to make sure that I had supplies and knew what to do, and he still serves as a resource and is a friend. I feel confident Mike will find the right home for you, and he will represent your best interest. He also took the time to come weekly with me and see my home being built. He had no obligation to do that and had earned his commission once the deal was signed yet he did that and even walked the home and helped me spot minor issues. Coming regularly during the building and being my advocate I believe resulted in a better quality home. His cheerful personality also resulted in both he and I having a good relationship with the builder. I tend to be blunt if something isn’t the way I think it should be and Mike’s speaking on my behalf resulted in better communication with the builder. I’ve moved a bunch and have met only 2 realtors I would recommend.
