In 1998, just before Mike first started in this fun residential real estate world, his wife Meg came up with “It’s Your Move” as a way to help define how he thinks about this business. Many think real estate is the “sales” business. Not true. They are in the service business. When working with buyers or sellers Mike sees his central role is to help clients have a great experience while helping them make informed decisions. Yes, his experience in all aspects of a real estate transaction is important but he is not making the decisions. Mike, his partner Beth Franklin, and Portside Real Estate Group are here to guide their clients through the sometimes-complicated process that leads to a successful transaction. And it’s not lost on them that future business depends on how well their clients experience today. Having served as designated (managing) broker since 2001, it reminds him of the Farmers Insurance ad. “We know a thing or two because we’ve seen thing or two.” The team of professionals among their colleagues at Portside Real Estate Group bring a collective, collaborative knowledge that makes the whole greater than the sum of its parts. It is this attitude and practice that makes it work.
Every transaction is different. Every client has unique needs and situations. It is the ability to listen, advise and implement that makes things go well. There is nothing more rewarding than a happy client. Loving what he does and the Boutique style at Portside make the journey all that much better.
