Ming Poon

As a father, professional photographer, and lifelong mountain athlete, Ming (???) brings a deep love and intimate knowledge of Tahoe to his real estate work. He’s passionate about helping others discover the lifestyle, beauty, and community that make this region so special.

Originally from Vermont, Ming moved west to attend the University of Nevada, Reno, where he studied management and international business. After graduation, he followed his passion for the outdoors, capturing images of his friends snowboarding and climbing—often while in front of the camera himself. This dual perspective helped him become a leading voice in mountain sports photography.

At age 27, Ming made the difficult decision to leave the mountains after his father’s unexpected passing. He moved to Hong Kong and later Beijing to help run the family’s international microelectronics trading business. There, he gained hands-on experience in global commerce and became fluent in Mandarin. While the work was meaningful, he deeply missed the clean air, fresh water, and mountain lifestyle of Tahoe.

When he returned, Ming launched a successful media production company, earning national recognition and awards for his photography. It was during this time that he purchased and remodeled his home in Tahoe City, where he now lives with his wife and two sons. After dabbling in real estate for himself, Ming joined Tahoe Mountain Realty and officially launched his real estate business.

Ming understands the importance of home—both as a place and a feeling. He’s honored to help people find their dream homes and never takes for granted the trust his clients place in him. With deep respect for the fact that he’s guiding them through decisions involving two of life’s most personal and impactful areas—home and finances—Ming brings care, integrity, and dedication to every relationship.
