We needed to quickly downsize a house, which was inhabited by the original owners for fifty years. Paul helped us identify the things that would make the house show beautifully, set us up with contractors, and helped everything flow seamlessly during a very tight three week clearout and mini-renovation.

Throughout the process, he coordinated communication between all parties and problem solved if issues came up (as they often will, in a multi-faceted project.) But when problems come up, you want someone who can help you solve them. Paul Butterfield is that guy. Nights and weekends, he was responsive to all communications and always paying attention to details. He went above and beyond in every step.

In the end, the property sold for 72K over asking price, and settled in 2 weeks. Paul's input in vetting offers and financing was instrumental in an absolutely painless process. All of our goals were met and more. Paul helped set and guide our expectations in an unfamiliar process, kept us abreast of all developments, and was in general a joy to work with. We recommend him very highly, and will certainly reach out to him for all of our future real estate needs.

I found Paul when I was looking to buy a house in 2016. He took the time to get to know me and what would appeal most to me. I had done my own searching, but after working with me for a few weeks, he found me the perfect home. He truly listened to me! I was so happy with his service then that when it was time to move on from that home, I chose Paul to be my seller's broker. His decades of experience and expertise, understanding of the processes, ability to effortlessly engage with other brokers, lenders, and settlement companies gave me great comfort. I cannot say enough positive things about Paul Butterfield and REMAX Realty Services. Our daughter and her fiancé had been searching for their own single family home for a year. Given the current market, coupled with their naivete about real estate, they were growing increasingly disillusioned about ever finding a home. Then Paul Butterfield came to the rescue! He said, "Don't worry... I promise that we'll find the perfect starter home for you at a price you can afford." Paul proceeded to work very hard to keep that promise! There is a huge difference between a real estate agent and a real estate agent that had a home inspection business, worked in home construction as a kid and is a natural negotiator. When you buy or sell a home there are MANY things that can go wrong and Paul can see these issues before they are issues and that is so important. I have sold two homes thru Paul and in both cases he told us exactly what we need to do to get top dollar, in both cases he got us more than expected. In one case he helped the other agent that had little experience. Go with experience, go with the Paul &Mindy Butterfield team.

**Genuine, professional, very kind person and real estate agent. Experience and obvious expert knowledge of the area and market** I saw excellent reviews on Paul Butterfield while planning a move from overseas to Bethesda back in Jan 2020. I contacted him to assist with finding my family and I a home in the Bethesda area and I feel extremely fortunate to have found him. We met in person and toured homes and the area over 2 weeks. He is professional, has extensive experience and knowledge of the area and market. He not only patiently toured countless homes and the area with me, he also stayed heavily involved during and after closing which gave my family and I great comfort having purchased a home we would not occupy for months. He kept in touch with me after closing and offered his assistance out of his own generosity when issues arose with our home. I never felt any pressure working with Paul. In fact, I often felt guilty having occupied his evenings and weekends. There was not a single time he was not available for me when I needed to reach him throughout the home buying and post-closing process. Finally, I should mention that we considered a range of homes of widely varying prices and locales. Our needs would have been met regardless of home price or location in the D.C. metro area and its outlying suburbs.

This past spring, as we faced the challenge of settling Mom and Dad’s estate and selling their home of nearly 40 years, it was impossible to think of it as a piece of real estate. And harder still to put a price on it.

We started out trying to rent our condo and instead got a lot of calls from realtors and investors of various types. Paul and his office stood out from the first communication as being immediately responsive to our situation and needs. Paul rapidly and effectively worked with us to get the property priced correctly and ready to sell. He did a great job getting us to the right level of renovation and cleanup, despite our reluctance to put more time and money in the property. He introduced us to a painting contractor who did a great job for a satisfying price. He also was exceptional at negotiating with several realtors and potential buyers. In our case, it ended up being near daily communication with about a two week turn around. I've bought/sold 5 properties, and the experience with Paul was the best.

I have been delighted with work that Paul Butterfield has done for me in three real estate transactions over the past fifteen years or so. I was fortunate to meet Paul when my wife and I were buying a condo in Bethesda. Paul was agent for the seller and most impressive in his professional, cordial manner and effectively handling the deal. When we were selling another condo a few years later we engaged Paul. He had good ideas and acted to promote a quick sale. About twelve years later we were selling a house in Derwood (which we had bought from the builder). Paul handled the transaction for us, providing especially good help checking the condition and providing appropriate disclosure. We then bought another house which needed a lot of maintenance and fix-up work. Drawing on his construction experience, Paul gave us great help and advice about priority of repairs. Also, he gave us names of contractors who worked flexible schedules and charged reasonable prices. That alone was extremely valuable. I could not recommend Paul Butterfield more highly.

Paul has been a major help to us from the beginning, arranging for contractors to get our house ready to sell, putting it on the market, negotiating with the buyers, and arranging the closing. Then a week before the closing, a windstorm blew a tree down on our house. This complicated matters. We still went through closing (a day late), but with a large escrow dependent on proper repairs being made. Paul got his commission and could have abandoned us, but he stuck with us to the end.
