Living in a variety of settings with her family, Rachel has always been very analytical in distilling down their vitally important criteria to make sure the next house they purchase has what it takes to become a home they all love. She takes great pride in also getting to know her clients and friends to best understand what is important to them in their real estate search. She is extremely resourceful and will work tirelessly to make sure she has left no stone unturned in the quest to find the perfect real estate match. Whether you are a transplant to the area, a life long Carolinian or a friend looking to make your next move, she would love to guide you in the search for your next special place.
Growing up in Bloomington, Indiana she spent her childhood cheering for the Indiana Hoosiers, raising a variety of animals, hiking down to their family creek, and building things with her dad. From small pieces of furniture to a guest house, her dad taught her to work hard, but to approach each project one board and nail at a time. She took a lot of pride in seeing their hard work pay off in the finished products they created together.
She left Indiana for New Hampshire at an early age to attend boarding school at Phillips Exeter Academy. She extended her New Hampshire stay by attending Dartmouth College where she double majored in Government and Asian Studies. She was fortunate to study abroad in China twice, intern in the White House, and also worked at Sotheby's Auction House in New York City.
While working at Andersen Consulting in the Boston area, she met her husband Nick. Traveling to consulting projects around the world was both exciting and rewarding for them. They learned so much from their host countries and they valued learning what made each country they visited special. Everywhere they went they collected pictures, books, and mementos, and they also made new friends.
During those years of travel, Nick and she discussed what they most valued. As a New Englander, Nick valued the ocean, sports and great food (with a name that means "Eat Bread" in Italian, food is definitely critical). Coming from the Midwest and the Northeast, she valued green space, friendly people, lakes and education. When they visited North Carolina... and Davidson in particular, they knew they had found "home." They have loved raising their three sons in the Lake Norman area. You'll often find them cheering them on at tennis tournaments around this beautiful state. Their oldest son recently began his college journey in Chapel Hill and though they have lived in North Carolina for a long time, they are so thrilled to officially be a Tar Heel Family.
Being a Realtor is the perfect combination of all of her interests and strengths, and she loves it. She understands the small details that can make a home really fit a family. She is excited daily to take advantage of the rich resources available to her, the collaborative network of Helen Adams Realty agents and her innate desire to help her clients and friends to find or create their perfect home, "a board and nail at a time," as her dad taught her.
