I’m Richard Long, an Oconee County native with seven years of comprehensive real estate experience. My number one responsibility is my fiduciary duty to my clients, ensuring their interests are always my top priority in all aspects of real estate transactions.
I’ve been blessed with a wonderful family life, married for 53 years to my beautiful wife, and proud father to two successful and wonderful sons with their loving families. My roots in this area run deep, having been raised on the creek banks of Crooked Creek until Duke Energy’s construction of a lake for Oconee Nuclear Station changed our landscape.
After earning an Associate’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering, I began a rewarding 37-year career with Duke Energy at Oconee Nuclear Station (ONS). Starting as a non-licensed operator, I worked my way up to become a Senior Reactor Operator, supervising operations in the control room. I also earned a Certificate for Nuclear Power Operations Training, allowing me to teach and train all aspects of Nuclear Power.
Upon retiring in 2014, I set new goals to stay mentally and physically active. The challenge of Real Estate beckoned, so I went back to the classroom to earn my Real Estate license. Not stopping there, I also earned my small aircraft license to fly and operate my own Drone business.

My background in nuclear engineering has honed my attention to detail and problem-solving skills, which I now apply to the intricacies of real estate transactions.
