Richard is simply THE BEST. He stuck with us even when our preferences changed wildly along the way. He paid attention to what we said we wanted and gently reminded us of those things when we started to stray, while not making us feel bound to our initial 'wants'.

It may sound unlikely, but Richard is able to combine professionalism and experience with fun, which made the very challenging task of finding and buying a home as pleasant and easy as it could possibly be.

We have found, thanks to Richard, our dream home, so we don't expect to need Richard's expertise for quite some time, but when we do, we wouldn't dream of working with anyone else.

He went out of his way in a hot market to make sure we had a window to assess and offer on a property. Even on closing day, when our car broke down, he offered to pick us up.

I definitely recommend Richard especially if you are a first home buyer like we were. We've started with very limited information about home buying, but Richard has been there for us throughout the entire process. During numerous house visits with him (you will be surprised when you hear how long we've been searching "the one" with Richard), my wife and I have learned so many things about home buying and Richard has been really patient with us all the time even with my silly questions and concerns. My husband and I are so thankful to have met Richard as our realtor. Thanks to his generous and helpful guidance, we were able to purchase our amazing Firse House in Maryland!
When we first met, it was at one of the open houses that Richard was hosting. He will patiently walk you through the ins and outs of the bizarre process of buying a home, and when problems arise (which they always do) he keeps a level head and helps find creative solutions to make sure you get into the home that's right for you. Highly recommended.

I could tell you some crazy stories regarding my experiences with realtors in the past, but let me tell you now, working with Richard is not just easy and pain-free, he makes every interaction enjoyable and you forget about any other realtor experience - positive or negative - from your past. Richard is detail-oriented and understands value. He is meticulous when it comes to processes, paperwork, and finding just the right place. Because Richard put so much thought and effort into finding the perfect place for me and my daughter: making sure the neighborhood is safe, finding all the things we wanted (fireplace, garage, in-unit washer and dryer) and perks we didn’t expect (swimming pool, third bedroom, second car garage), proximity to my work and conveniences (airport, golf courses, shopping), it really made my part feel easy and enjoyable.. even when I received news I did not want.

The first place I found seemed perfect: location, gourmet kitchen, tall windows with lots of natural light, close to work and a walking trail. When I put in my application, the owner decided to take the listing off the market. I felt pretty devastated because I thought it was the right fit for me and my daughter. Richard comforted me and continued to help me in my search. With his positive demeanor and cheerfulness, I forgot what I was sad about. I got excited, again, about a listing. Before I could blindly submit an application, Richard suggested (and then scheduled) a tour of the home. We set up 4 home tours within a 10-minute radius for the next day. Richard drove 45 minutes out to the first listing and 10 minutes to each of the next 3 and made it so much fun. For the first time ever, I enjoyed viewing multiple homes - and via FaceTime! I think I appreciated the honesty in his approach, more than anything - although his fun personality is tough to beat. I asked countless questions and Richard showed me the entire space in a way that made it feel like I was there (although I was 1600 miles away)! He pointed out things I did not even think about (guest parking, proximity to neighbors, quietness of the neighborhood, children’s bicycles next door, views from all windows, extra storage, cleanliness). Richard even measured out the space on the balcony to see if my current outdoor furniture would fit!

My second attempt at submitting the application was nerve-wracking after I learned that there was another applicant - until Richard shared with me that the other realtor said my application was the front-runner and shared the conversations they had. Richard is very natural at making friends, which humanized the experience for everyone involved. Although I had to wait for the owners to make their decision, because of Richard’s friendliness and going above and beyond to talk to the other realtor, I was chosen! I was so ecstatic to get the news from Richard. Because I’m not located in VA currently, he shared the great news via FaceTime and it made it that much better to see the smile on his face and know how much he cares and that he was genuinely happy for me and my daughter to find the home of our dreams.

Hands-down, I would recommend Richard above any other realtor (and I’m not just regular picky; I’m SUPER picky). This man is classy, respectful, professional, and also down-to-earth, friendly, easy-going, and a blast to work with. I cannot say enough good things about him. If you don’t choose Richard, you’ll wish you had! :)

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Richard. In selling our townhouse Richard went through and helped us settle on a selling price. I was very skeptical on listing it that high, but Richard insisted it would sell. He was absolutely right on every point! Because of his expertise, we had an offer within 1 day and at asking price!
When it came time to look for a new home, without hesitation Richard was our go to. Richard helped us get into a house for a tour before it even went on the market. Because of that, we were able to put in an offer before it got gobbled up and are now moving into our dream home.

We can’t thank Richard enough for all the work he did selling our house!! It was a simple and easy process for us! Compass’ Concierge service was also key. We got to make all the upgrades we needed to the property without disrupting our personal cash flow!!!! Ultimately, between Richard’s hard work and the Concierge service, once the property was on the market it sold in 3 days!!!!
