Rick Pirog has sold real estate in the Vail Valley for over forty-five years. Born in Denver, Rick has been a native of Colorado his entire life except for the ten years he lived in Texas. A graduate of Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and a Master of Science in Business Administration, Rick started his career in land development and commercial real estate sales in Colorado Springs prior to moving to Vail in 1977. That move resulted from Rick’s longtime dream to live and work in a resort community. ‘I found my first stop – Vail – to be a great one,’ he says.
Throughout his forty-five years as a Vail Valley broker, Rick has consistently been a top producer for Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate. Throughout this time, his pace has not slackened: The veteran Vail Valley broker has consistently ranked as one of Slifer Smith and Frampton’s top producers.
Rick possesses a broad range of knowledge in virtually all of Vail’s communities. He has developed this expertise from working in five different office locations as the valley grew and expanded to the west: Lionshead for nine years, Vail Village for eleven years, Beaver Creek for eighteen years, and has now been back in Vail Village for the last twelve years. ‘I started out in East Vail in 1977 and became familiar with each successive Vail Valley community as they emerged,’ he explains. ‘Today, by relying extensively on the cumulative knowledge of the company’s one-hundred-plus broker team, I continue to maintain an active awareness of trends in each community in order to offer my clients the widest perspective of market opportunities.’
Rick has also worked on numerous new construction ventures over the years including co-listing and selling out East West Partners’ exclusive ‘Custom Homes on Village Walk’ community in Beaver Creek, twenty-four high-end homes valued over $120 million, and more recently, The Pointe, a gated ten-unit custom home community in Edwards. ‘I find that my knowledge of design and the cost issues of construction prove most helpful in interpreting real estate value for my customers.’ Rick continues to assist his clients in buying and selling a wide range of residential properties including condominiums, townhomes, single-family homes, and homesites.
Rick’s involvement with real estate extends beyond his Slifer Smith and Frampton office located at 281 Bridge Street in the heart of Vail Village. He has served as past President of the Vail Board of Realtors. He also served as Director of the Cordillera Valley Club Property Owners Association for five years and as President of the Cordillera Valley Club Metro District for ten years
In his leisure time, Rick enjoys golf, hiking, skiing, and fly fishing. Rick lives in Edwards between the Divide and Ranch communities of Cordillera and has been an active member of The Club at Cordillera for the past twenty-six years. Rick has a son Todd (43) and a daughter Jackie (41).
