Rob's Reviews
3/28/13Robert Jansen
This review is specifically for Rob Jansen, a Realtor who works for OC Signature Properties. My husband and I happened to meet Rob at an open house he was overseeing in Anaheim Hills. We are so grateful for this chance meeting, because Rob really stuck it out for us when we needed him the most. We met Rob when I was five months pregnant and ready to embark on an aggressive house-hunt to move-in before I gave birth. I'm not exactly sure how many years Rob has been in the real-estate game, but he knows his stuff and is extremely resourceful. Something about him at the open house really caught our interest. I think it was his willingness to take a few minutes to really talk to us about what we were looking for and offering of suggestions, but he was in no way pushy like other agents tend to be. It was more like, Hey, I'll help you if you want. If not, that's cool. I'm awesome, and I don't need to be a pushy jerk for your business. Thinking about complaints of other agents I've worked with in the past, Rob was able to put these other agents to shame. I put a lot of trust into Rob because he's a genuine guy and really wants to help you because he's nice, not because he's looking to hurry up and get his commission. He remained patient with us for months as we scoured through condos and houses. He listened to and considered all of our wants and needs and always kept those in mind. I never felt pressured by him to hurry up. He would drive me around for hours at a time, from house to house, answering all my annoying questions and entertaining my picky tastes over the houses we'd browsed. He'd always give suggestions or solutions to things that I did not like--for that reason, I'd say he's an optimist, but not an opportunist! One time, he even shared some chocolate with me while we were having a long day. Come on...now THAT'S a smart guy...giving chocolate to the pregnant lady. When we had finally found the one, he gave us an idea of what he thought a fair offer would be. Happy to say that our offer was accepted, far below listing price, and we started the long journey to the closing date. Along that journey, Rob helped set us up with all the connections we needed: loan consultant, inspector, contractor, and even a gardener. All of his references were solid. The loan consultant was more helpful than any others. The inspector was thorough and helpful. The contractor was a really genuine, honest guy (who also set us up with painters, a mason, and a tiler later on). And the gardener had lower prices than other quotes I got for people in the area. When all was said and done, we closed two days after the birth of our daughter. Rob was the first non-family member to meet our little girl, and I'm happy for that because were it not for his hard work and guidance through everything, we would not have had the luxury of starting our family in this beautiful home. Although I'm sure some days I drove Rob a little crazy with all my questions and all my criticisms of just about every house we looked at, he kept his cool and was such an important part of helping make our dreams come true. He also gave us part of his commission back as his gift to us. I really felt like I had a friend help us find a home, and not an agent. We really miss him! Aside from being a top-notch Realtor, he's got a great sense of humor and an awesome Australian accent. What's not to love? Nicole F.
