Bob Ficks grew up in Hartford County CT, where he inherited real estate knowledge from his father, a real estate editor for the Hartford Courant. Bob started his college career at Syracuse University for Architecture, but then transferred to Roger Williams University and got a BA in Historic Preservation. He came back to CT to work as an Appraiser for a company called National Appraisal Company in Newington, CT. He traveled all over the state and learned about location and marketability of houses in all value ranges. In 1988, he left that company and started an appraisal company in Avon, CT known as Laurel Appraisal Services. He was one of three owners. At around 2010 he got his CT Real Estate license and worked for a brokerage named Realty Works in Canton, CT. He was doing private appraisals and selling real estate. Realty Works was bought out by William Ravis in Avon and he then became a full-time Realtor there. He joined the L & D team here at Berkshire Hathaway Farmington office since 2017.
