Robin Thomas

Robin grew up in Samples Manor, Maryland, alongside three siblings. At 18, Robin embarked on a professional journey at Fairchild Space in Germantown, Maryland, starting as an assembler responsible for manufacturing satellite-related products. After a few years, Robin transitioned to the role of Quality Control. Through subsequent mergers and acquisitions, Fairchild Space merged with Fairchild Defense, eventually leading to its acquisition by Orbital Sciences. In 2000, Orbital Sciences divided into two separate divisions, and Robin found employment within the Defense Division. Later, Robin's division was acquired by Smiths Industries, where Robin remained until 2005. In January 2006, Robin joined Fairchild Controls in Frederick and assumed the role of Quality Group Leader. In this capacity, Robin collaborated closely with customers to ensure that the delivered products adhered to both customer and government specifications. However, in the autumn of 2017, Robin and the team received news of the facility's impending closure, with plans to relocate their products to another facility.
