With a love of Montana, the Bitterroot Valley and real-life ranching, horsemanship and outdoor lifestyle skills Rod Freeman is the perfect selection to market and/or assist you in finding your ranch or recreational property.
A Montana native, Rod was born in Livingston and raised in the Beartooth Mountains southwest of Billings. His grandfather started a Guest Ranch in Nye in 1920 and was a charter member of the Dude Ranchers Association. Dude wrangling, working cattle ranches and rodeo were a large part of life growing up. Joining the Army after high school took Rod away from Montana, retiring after 20 plus years’ service as a Chief Warrant Officer Four in 1983. His second career spanned an additional twenty years working in upper management of retail companies in Texas, California and Colorado before returning to Montana in 2003 to a third career in Real Estate. Rod has a son and two daughters, eight grandchildren and a great granddaughter. His wife and partner is Christie Anderson and their current “family” includes five horses and three dogs and two cats. Christie and Rod spend free time as students and practitioners of Natural Horsemanship, having trained with Buck Brannaman, Peter Campbell, and currently with Ty Heth in the tradition of the Vaquero.
The Freemans are very active in community activities, serving on the Ravalli County Fair Grounds Board, on its Rodeo and Events Committees and as Ambassadors for the Bitterroot Valley Chamber of Commerce.
