Short version: I hired Roger as a buyer's agent because he was someone I felt comfortable with and he had an extensive knowledge of the area where I was hoping to buy. I had some particular needs around a home office which meant that in addition to the usual yada, yada, yada-- budget this, location that-- I needed someone who would get what was unique about my situation. So anyway, a Saturday rolls around and we're getting ready to do the circuit. He's excited. "We're going to start with this one!" he says. Roger, I think to myself, that's not really what I'm looking for. Thought crosses my mind to nix it. I wonder if he's been listening... but I decide, "Okay, you picked this guy because you trust him. Let's see it, no harm in looking." I've been living in that place for almost two months now and I love it. Roger knew what I was looking for better than I did. Seeing it in person-- especially in contrast to some of the other places we looked at-- I saw why it was a great fit for me. Once we started talking through some of the advantages-- relative costs, location, space, amenities, investment considerations, the whole 9 yards-- I could see that he found me a diamond in the rough. I think that's one of the ways you can recognize expertise: when you're struggling to see past the nose on your face, they can see five moves ahead. I plan to live where I am for a long while, but I already know who I'll use the next time I buy property.

Roger is great to work with; he listened patiently, offered advice when we needed it, addressed all of our (many) questions and concerns, and made sure to be with us when we asked for his presence at open houses, home inspections, etc. He was always honest with us about his professional opinion and helped us not just jump into the first option we saw. He helped us identify what was most important to us, and how we could achieve that within our budget and preferred area.
We would definitely recommend working with Roger as he helped us find the best home as first-time home buyers. He was with us through every step of the way and is a pleasure to work with!
