After moving to Sacramento from Michigan, earning my BA at CSUS and Masters from USF, and then teaching for 5 years, Ron decided he could better provide for his family by developing a career in real estate. He began by working as a broker in 1980, later becoming partners with his farther-in-law until his retirement. He then took over as the sole owner of two CENTURY 21 offices with over 120 agents working under my guidance. In 1994, he sold the business to Dan Jacuzzi and the name changed to CENTURY 21 Select. However, he stayed at the company and still has an active and successful life as an agent and broker with The Murphy Team.
Since 1995, he has been one of the top closing residential Real Estate agents for CENTURY 21’s Sierra Nevada Region; and, their team, which formed in 2001, has ranked amongst the top 75 most successful Century 21 teams in the nations. His personal achievements include being an Outstanding Life Member of the Sacramento Association of REALTORS Master’s Club, ranking me in the top 5% of all Sacramento area agents. In addition to successfully closing a high number of transactions, he provides incredible customer service. In fact, his clients have continually given him exemplary remarks on surveys, earning them the prestigious Pinnacle Quality Service award. For their continued success and unparalleled service, The Murphy Team was named to Century 21’s prestigious Honor Society in 2006.
Ron has so much to be proud of, but nothing makes him happier than working aside his family. His daughter Jannay joined him in real estate in 2001 and his daughter Melissa became a loan officer in 2005. His son Kevin also worked with me for about 5 years, but his passion lead him back to the travel industry, and he currently manages Sports Leisure Vacations. Now his niece, Michelle Benner, has joined the team.
