Sam brings robust community and economic development experience to the SVN | Miller team. Working out of the SVN Chesapeake office in Easton, MD, Sam works diligently with clients to advance their site selection needs. Drawing on experience from serving as a county’s economic development coordinator, Sam advises clients on not just their real estate needs, but also on how an organization can meet its workforce development needs and where their operation fits into the fabric of a community.
Prior to joining SVN | MIller, Sam served as a chamber of commerce executive and helped guide his county’s business community through the coronavirus pandemic—all while launching new programs and increasing revenues. Before leading his local chamber of commerce, Sam was a county economic development coordinator and was responsible for advancing the county’s business retention and attraction strategy. This position had Sam working directly with senior business executives across multiple sectors including healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, and hospitality.
Throughout each stage of his professional career, Sam has been actively involved as a volunteer in his community. Shoge has served as a firefighter with a volunteer fire company and has been a board member for numerous non-profits and commissions, including the University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, Chesapeake College Foundation, the Rural Maryland Council, and a number of planning and land use-oriented commissions and taskforces.
