I’ve worked with several real estate agents to buy and sell houses, I can confidently say Scott is in a class of his own. This sale was a particularly challenging situation for me; it was an estate sale for my mother’s house and I live in another state.

Some of the things I enjoyed most about working with Scott were that he’s extremely communicative, knows the market and has a deep network of professionals to help get a house ready for sale. Most importantly he always acted with integrity and gave great counsel. We developed an approach on how to prepare the house for sale and he then helped coordinate what needed to be done.

A moment I’ll never forget was a couple days before the house was set to go on the market, I was at the house doing a final clean out. Scott showed up, not in his usual smart business attire, but in shorts and a t-shirt and started to wash some exterior windows! Wow! He goes the extra mile and tailors his services to meet the needs of his client. You can’t ask for more than that.

His experience and understanding of the local housing market were invaluable in setting a pricing strategy, staging our home (even contributing a personal item from his home for the staging), promoting the listing, and conducting the open house. Scott Gleason was extremely helpful and a consummate professional while helping my father and I with the sale of our home. Scott certainly went above and beyond of what was expected of a real estate professional. Scott proved to be very sensitive to the emotions of a family selling their home of over 50 yrs. My father is 93yrs and old and Scott went out of his way to always make sure he understood what was going on and be included on all decisions. Scott was more than happy to suggest and coordinate the use of various professionals needed to aid in the sale of our home including stagging experts, plumbers, handymen, painters, etc. Scott made himself available 24/7 from beginning to end – always there for discussions, suggestions, advice, etc. Scott even followed up with us after the sale to keep in touch and find out how we were all doing after our move. Before Scott Gleason became my realtor, I was worried about whether I could sell my mom’s house. At first, I was apprehensive about hiring Scott to be my realtor since I lived out of state and had never personally met him. It didn’t take long to realize I was in good hands: Scott Gleason is the real deal. He worked his magic selling my mom’s house quickly before going into foreclosure. Scott’s knowledge and expertise are undoubtedly appreciated. Scott answered my questions and worked closely with my real estate attorney to ensure everything went smoothly. Hello kind reader,

This is a short story to share with you about how meeting the right person could make a difference in the sad times. My wife and I are two retired persons living on a fixed income that we have earned after a life spent teaching and a thousand other services.

We left Pittsburgh, PA and moved into a small basement apartment for us to be closer to our children and grandchildren.

The night of September 1, 2021 Hurricane Ida came to our place and our apartment got water bombed flooding our apartment to the ceiling. Even now I can shut my eyes and see the refrigerator filled with my insulin supply floating in the sewer and flood waters.

Our healing from this experience took us about one year in no greater reason than meeting a quiet, soft spoken, and highly qualified professional. His name is Scott Gleason Team@Coldwel Banker Realty. His professional and human attitude to us, two shaken to the bottom individuals, was therapeutic and healing.

Within the space of three days from our initial contact we were able to organize the rental contract, find the rental property, and get some semblance of peace of mind to heal our lives and bodies. My wife was suffering with broken knee cap and needed to observe strict regimen to avoid more serious skeletal complications. One year passed, we healed, time came to move on, we had to leave the rented property. And again Scott Gleason came to action: within three days he was able to take care of our rented place!

If you need a real estate professional in Westfield, NJ – hire Scott! We are a military and consulting family, so we have moved quite a few times in the past and Scott is, by far, the best real estate agent with whom we’ve worked. I have both purchased and sold a home with Scott in New Jersey and wish he could be our real estate agent for any transaction in the future. Scott not only made sure our deal was the best possible, but he made sure that the house was going to be a home for us and that we had a proper introduction to our neighborhood by providing restaurant, group, worship, recreation, contractor, and other recommendations. Scott introduced himself to me during a “driveway moment” several years ago. He had recently handled the purchase of the house next door and had stopped by around dinnertime to check in on his recent clients as they were settling into their new home. I was not contemplating the sale of my home at the time but as I was nearing retirement, it was only a matter of time when that task would be added to my To Do list. He introduced himself and we briefly discussed his strategy for selling a century old home that would need significant TLC to bring it up to today’s standards. We exchanged contact information and I must emphasize that he left me with the impression of a realtor who knew the market in Westfield and understood the property rehabilitation process.

Fast forward to November 2021 and it was now time to put my home on the market. My brief conversation with Scott several years earlier had left a lasting impression. I dug out his business card, called and we met. Scott came to the meeting fully prepared with historical market data for many properties in my section of Westfield that had been through the renovation/entire rebuild process. His preparation for the meeting demonstrated his experience with this transaction type including focus on the contractor market and the range of possibilities for my property. Although this was to be an “As Is” sale, Scott also described the seemingly mundane but otherwise critical tasks such as fire safety inspection, underground storage tank sweep, etc. that would still need to take place before closing. During that meeting, we set a listing price, developed a sales process timeline, established criteria for acceptable offers and most importantly, agreed on our mutual expectations of what a successful sales process would look like.

Suffice it to say, by all measurements the process was successful. The showing process went smoothly, significant capable buyer interest was generated, and the transaction was completed in the planned timeframe. And while there was always the potential for unexpected issues to arise, Scott brings to the table the resources to address those issues with a calm and reliable approach. Without reservation I recommend Scott to all as an excellent realtor and trusted advisor.

I was a first time home seller and didn't know much about the process except for finding a real estate agent. Luckily, I saved a flier that Scott Gleason of Remax sent out and contacted him, and several other agents. As soon as I met with Scott, I knew he was going to be my best choice. After choosing Scott, he explained the selling process in detail from beginning to end. He provided me with a to-do lists that I followed and listed the house. I received 13 offers and Scott helped me with selecting the best offer. He negotiated an outstanding contract, and I was able to sell my home with the highest selling price ever in my community. In the middle of the pandemic we wanted to move into an over 55 community in Union County NJ.  Finding any property in north Jersey isn’t easy, and finding an adult community near Westfield is particularly tough.

In talking to Realtors only Scott offered to work proactively find us a suitable property. Rather than inundate us with all area listings, he filtered what he sent us, and actually commented on the appropriateness of the home.  In addition, and truly valuable, he identified communities we found desirable and proactively reached out to current homeowners.  These were people who had not yet listed their home, but might be planning to do so.   Knowing what will be available before it is listed is a huge advantage.

Early on Scott explained that finding a house is only half the Realtor’s value.  Managing the process and the paperwork is fully another half, and Scott shined in this area.

You expect a Realtor to help you negotiate the price, and he certainly did.  Unfortunately the inspection report uncovered a serious issue.  Scott spent considerable time reviewing the issue and identifying a quality compromise that everyone was pleased with.  Without his efforts we could not have purchased the home.

During the pre-closing process Scott was with us the entire time ensuring that the town inspections were completed, the input to the title company was completed in a timely manner and when necessary he worked with the attorneys to move the process along.

In summary, Scott was an excellent asset to us in finding the perfect home.
