Scott M. Schmitt, CCIM

Scott M. Schmitt, CCIM is President and Principal Broker with Coldwell Banker Commercial ORION REAL ESTATE ADVISORS, INC., specializing in commercial and investment real estate brokerage. During his tenure in the commercial real estate industry, Mr. Schmitt is recognized as one of the premier real estate advisors to private and corporate clients. Scott is a second-generation commercial Broker; his father Michael Schmitt was the Principal Broker/Owner of Orion Commercial Real Estate, founded in 1971.

Over the past 18 years Mr. Schmitt has completed hundreds of transactions on behalf of Seller and Buyer clients. Scott recently brokered the $9.1 Million sale of two NNN leased fitness centers, which was awarded by MNCAR as “Transaction of the Year” in the Saint Cloud/Greater MN Market. His continual education coupled with his vast experience as a real estate investor himself, has enabled him to understand, determine and explain where one can find value.
Prior to joining Coldwell Banker Commercial ORION REAL ESTATE, Mr. Schmitt was a General Manager and consistent top producer within the Gold’s Gym organization. Scott is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designee, a high-level designation achieved by only 6% of CRE practitioners. CCIMs are recognized experts in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, asset management, and investment analysis.
Scott is consistently a top producer for the Coldwell Banker Commercial brand in the state of Minnesota and Midwest region, and recently achieved elite status Top 2% of all CBC brokers (over 3000 nationally) in 2022. Additionally, he has earned the prestigious CBC Circle of Distinctions in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022 & 2023. In 2023, Scott earned #1 Professional By State from CBC corporate, CBC Orion Real Estate Advisors was also awarded Number One Office By State.

When not brokering deals on behalf of clients, Scott enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, golfing, health and fitness, and boating in the Brainerd Lakes area. Scott is also an avid real estate investor of multi-family apartment buildings, and multi-tenant office commercial properties.
