About Sherret

Sherret’s specialty has been the location of exclusive residential and rural commercial properties in the Catskill Mountain region and surrounding Hudson Valley areas. Large properties and unique homes are his greatest interest, and complex projects including land development are his passion.

Enjoying the challenge of having a high level of responsibility, his organizational ability has been critical to resolving complex systems with permitting requirements, innovative methods and technology, and professional teamwork. Among his experiences in Real Estate, he has: consolidated 2000 acres under lease for a large wind-farm development; negotiated aggregation of 500 acres of wilderness land for conversion to state Forever Wild forest; brokered several hundred acres for hotel/golf/skiing development; advised on public relations and development strategy for a complex destination facility; coordinated and negotiated transfer of private lands faced with state expropriation proceedings; and acquired skills in surveying, appraisals and title research.

Related experience includes financial services and insurances, general construction, and building renewable energy projects including: construction management for refurbishment and re-construction of two 40-story deteriorated residential towers in Boston; primary authority for the installations of independent energy systems with complex permitting requirements for agriculture, business, and residential applications; constructability analysis and logistics advice for a $500 million energy project; data compilation for wind-energy resources around the Great Lakes; and development manager for the first mountain top wind-farm in New England.

His education includes acquiring degrees and licenses for: Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University, Real Estate Broker, Financial and Insurance licenses 6 and 63, Life & Health, certified technician for several turbine manufacturers, and private pilot.
