Wonderful. Kind. Caring. Knowledgeable. Ethical. Experienced... I could probably think of another hundred adjectives to describe how exceptional Susan MeKenney is, but I think you get the point. Whether serving as a buyer or seller's agent, Susan always gives her clients 100%. She has represented me in three home transactions over the years and I've never once been disappointed. Susan goes the extra mile for her clients and does the job right. If you choose to work with her you'll not only end up with a great realtor, but also a lifelong friend. Knowledge, patience, experience, expertiese, guidance and above all HONESTY.... all of these words sum up Susan Mekenney. I am SO happy I found her! Susan helped me both fix and sell my parents home after they both passed away. When I say helped, let me be clear - she guided me every step of the way. Just to paint the picture, I have lived abroad for more than 20 years, so my knowledge of all things real estate, contractor and marketwise were null. Susan sat with me and explained the entire sales process, helped decide where to spend and where to save money on fixing up my parents house and even helped me find the right people to get everything done. She was completely honest and never stopped working for me even when I was thousands of miles away. I am so thankful and I would recommend her to ANYBODY looking for a real estate agent (expert) in the Northern Virginia area.

I have known Susan for many years. She was my realtor when I purchased my townhouse-style condo as a buyer and was the realtor I selected for the sale of this property 22 years later. Susan had stayed in touch with me through these years, providing update guidance about the market and updates needed to place the unit for sale. Kudos to Susan as I received a full asking price offer as the market began to turn with higher mortgage interest rates and fewer properties available in northern Virginia.

Susan has assisted us with three transactions (selling a home, signing a lease, and buying a home). She has been wonderful to work with through each of them. She is very knowledgeable and extremely responsive which has been especially important when trying to buy in today's market. She was very accommodating when dealing with our somewhat unique and difficult to find requirements; she never pressured us into something we didn't want but instead wanted to make sure we were happy. I am delighted to write this review strongly recommending Susan McKenney for your real estate needs. I am moving to Alexandria next month and i needed to find an apartment. Susan was recommended by a colleague of mine who had worked with her, previously. . Susan was very efficient, organized a list of apartments within a couple of apartments in my preferred location and price range and conducted facetime video visits. I settled on an apartment and Susan worked with the other agent to get the lease done, etc, She is meticulous and well organized, I have worked with realtors in both the US and Canada and definitely Susan will be at the top of the list.. In addition she is a very nice, friendly person.

I was new to the Washington/Virginia area and in search of a home. Susan Mekenney was highly recommended by friends as the perfect realtor to assist me. However, I did further investigations and found that her credibility was sound in the real estate market. As a new buyer Susan shared with me a wealth of information and provided practical advice in every aspect of the buyer's process. I was not disappointed - as with Susan's infectious energy, honesty, and her astute observations of unseen faults that might prove a liability in future proved to me that she really had my best interests at heart. In fact, one property that I had my heart set on, Susan said let us investigate further. Lo and behold there were underlying problems that only an expert and honest realtor would have foreseen and informed the buyer which Susan did. Fourteen years later I was overseas when the COVID pandemic hit and I was stranded for months due to the lockdown (I am still stranded), I decided to sell the condo with some skepticism. Thereupon Susan came to my rescue by making all the arrangements for the sale, and with the utmost dignity and personal oversight, the removal of my belongings to storage. What impressed me about Susan is that she did it with genuine enthusiasm, not a hint of frustration, and a very cheerful spirit while timely communicating with me through social media at each stage of selling. Her efficiency in handling the complexities in the timely online communications and transactions made the whole process go like clockwork.

Susan is AWESOME!! A friend from church recommended Susan, whom this friend and her husband had hired when they bought their home. I was looking to rent during a two year DC assignment, NOT buy, so most realtors were not interested. Susan, however, was more than willing to assist. She helped me navigate MLS, locate prospects NOT on Zillow or other sites I was consulting, and when I flew in for two weeks before my transfer for this rental search Susan could not have been more gracious or generous with her time and wisdom. She helped me find a place the day before I was due to fly back to collect my kids for the trip to DC. When the rental application requested prior landlord references, which as a Federal employee posted overseas the prior 15 years I did not have, Susan wrote a reference letter on my behalf explaining the situation and assuring the landlord I would be a good tenant. The landlords accepted that and our offer for a slightly lower price for a two year lease. When I was reassigned to another state after the two years, but received my orders late so the move was rather rushed, Susan again stepped in to help me out. She offered her sons' handyman expertise to clean an oil stain left in the garage by my classic car and flagged by the landlord. Susan also did the final walk through for me with the landlord, allowing me to receive back my full security deposit AND get a positive reference for my next rental. I have referred other friends to her for assistance and strongly recommend her for anyone seeking help with a rental OR buy/sell. I consider Susan not only a justifiably award-winning realtor but also an excellent friend who truly cares about helping people.

Unbelievably helpful in helping my wife and I buy our first home. From scheduling visits to properties to negotiating what we should (and shouldn’t) from the seller, to signing over the keys, Susan completely guided us throughout the process. Also had suggestions for lenders, title companies, inspectors, etc. that she trusted if we wanted to go that route (and since we know basically nobody in the area, we did, and they were all great). Best of all she was available to talk basically whenever we had questions. We definitely wouldn’t have made it through the homebuying process as quickly and easily as we did without her help.
