Lana received her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law (CWSL), in San Diego, CA. She graduated with several awards and Dean’s list recognitions. She was the first intern for academic credit from CWSL in Casey Gerry’s history as she self-initiated the internship and received an award for outstanding academic excellence for her work. She received a scholarship and award for her scholarly writing paper in Establishment of International Law. She was president of Family Law Society, and a pro bono recipient for her volunteer work in ‘Women Against Violence Act in Immigration Law’. She was active in several legal organizations such as Phi Alpha Delta, Women’s Law Caucus, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Lawyers Club and Child, Family and Elder Law Society.
Lana graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Oregon. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish/French (Romance Languages) major and a Business Administration minor. She was recipient of Golden Key International Honor Society Recipient and Diversity Excellence Scholarships. Her education is diverse and includes International studies at: Santiago de Queretaro, Mexico; Moscow, Russia; La Rochelle, France and Montreal, Quebec/Canada
Active in the San Diego legal community, Lana currently serves on the Board as an Officer Director and Chair of the New Lawyers Committee for La Jolla Bar Association. Lana is a member of Lawyers Club where she works with the Diverse Women’s Committee and Human Trafficking Committee. Lana has helped ‘Free to Thrive’, a non-profit that helps survivors of human trafficking find donors and pro-bono attorneys. She does pro-bono work in immigration law helping women and children experiencing hardship. Lana is a member of San Diego County Bar Association where she is a part of the Real Property Section, New Lawyer Division, and Committee on Diversity and Inclusion. Lana is also an active member of Latinas in the Law, where she works with San Diego judges and attorneys to help mentor law students and new attorneys.
In addition to personal injury, Lana is an active broker. She specializes in real estate sales, investment purchases, 1031 exchanges and property management.
