Theodore “Ted” Reimer recently joined J.P. Weigand & Sons as a commercial associate in August of 2023, where he is looking to focus on land and agricultural sales. Prior to joining Weigand, Ted worked nine years as a utility lineman. In that role, he was able to assist many people in need with restoration services after natural disasters such as hurricanes, ice storms, and, of course, tornados. Ted helped hurricane victims in North Carolina in 2019 for Dorian, Louisiana twice (Laura in 2020 and Ida in 2021), and in Florida in 2022 due to hurricane Ian. He was also involved in restoration efforts in Oklahoma (October 2020) after the major ice storm that struck the region and later, in the aftermath of the Seminole tornado in 2022.
Ted was born and raised in Hutchinson, Kansas, where he grew up helping on the family farm near Buhler. He graduated from Trinity Catholic High School in Hutchinson and then attended Kansas State University. Following his graduation from Manhattan Area Technical College, Ted began his career in the field of Powerline Construction.
During his free time, Ted enjoys spending time with his wife, Halle, and their daughter, Clara. He volunteers at Trinity Catholic High School and is actively involved in his home parish at Holy Cross Catholic Church. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Marienthal, Kansas, council number 2930. Ted is still active in the family farm operations and continues to grow his understanding of land improvements and conservation practices. An area of special knowledge and interest for him is the National Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) Shelterbelt Restoration program.
Through these life experiences, Ted has developed a strong background in agriculture, a solid work ethic, integrity, and a commitment to helping others, all of which will be put into action as he strives to provide the best possible service for his clients.
