About Wayne
In addition to his real estate work, Wayne brings to Sotheby's International Realty a varied background in modern and historic architecture and design along with many years' solid experience in the business world. Wayne's design and architectural skills were honed at Parsons School of Design with a major in Environmental Design, at New York's Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies, and at the School of Architecture and Environmental Studies at City College of New York. Following college, Wayne was employed by noted architect Guiseppe Zambonini in the Open Atelier of Design, where his innovative designs for residential loft conversions were published in the journal Progressive Architecture.
A native New Yorker with a great love and knowledge of the city and its lore, history and architecture, Wayne has served on the Landmarks Committee (CB2). He has also served the local community over the years by collaborating on written and graphic presentations to the City Planning Commission and the Landmarks Preservation Commission for such campaigns as the one to limit inappropriate development and encroachment in residential neighborhoods and the early push to landmark the Gansevoort Market. Wayne has been a longtime member of the New York State Historical Association and of the Preservation League of New York State. He is also a lifetime member of the Limestone Ridge Historical Society in Upstate New York, where he and his family are the proud owners and perpetual restorers of an 1814 historic Federal home.
Clients profit from Wayne's seven years of practical experience as a co-op secretary and treasurer. In addition to benefiting from Wayne's expert insights on building and design issues and from his knowing the city's myriad boroughs and neighborhoods inside and out, Wayne's clients appreciate his down-to-earth personality, his candor when addressing a given property's virtues or limitations, his positive, proactive grab the bull by the horns approach, and his precision and thoroughness with every step of a deal. The great enthusiasm he has for his work results in successful sales and happy clients who come back when it's time to make a change or move on to something bigger. Wayne is a longtime member of the Real Estate Board of New York.
